[It is night. Laying out in one of the grassy fields Allen stares up at the sky which is full of stars and planets (of course they look like stars as well). Arms behind his head there is a handheld telescope and a book on astronomy beside him.]

Summer is always the best time for star gazing. [A content sigh.]

[Holding her close.] Back in New York it was hard to find a good spot to see the sky like this. Too many lights and sounds to distract you.

[ nods ] Yeah.

...still, I want to go back there with you someday. If they ever let me.

Of course they will. They can't keep you to themselves forever, that just wouldn't be fair.

[Looks over at him.] I dunno, don't you think it's a bit mystical?

That's what makes it so mysterious! [he waves a hand at the sky] Think about it- compared to those stars and the space surrounding them we're so small...

[Smiles at her] Isn't it? Back in New York you could never get a view like this...

[marie isn't really one for stargazing these days, but that doesn't make him any less inclined to be outside on a summer night. he walks up to allen.]
