“It's the principle of the thing. They've only brainwashed you into thinking this is normal. This is why the broadening of horizons is obviously, desperately necessary. Horizons that end someplace where there are waitresses, preferably. It will be beautiful. You may cry.”
He took the opportunity to have what was left of his coffee. “But the trauma. I mean, just how terrible a kisser was he? It’s okay, you can tell me.”
Draco watched the sugar continue to flow into his coffee and shrugged his shoulders. "I just don't spend it on frivolous political parties is all. I'm a little different from my father." With this, he set the sugar down and capped his coffee.
She struggled with the lid on her own, and then finally snapped it into place. "You know, Malfoy," she said, putting her hands on her hips and beginning to walk around him. "You really are different from your father. Well, I mean, for one, you haven't got any real power. At least your father tortured people, killed people. And what is it you do again?"
Draco turned and watched her as she circled, placing them in opposite positions. "I write men's fashion editorials," he said, entirely unembarrassed.
"Ah," she hissed, "how entirely intimidating."
"You would be surprised," he said smoothly, "at just how many men cower at the prospect of figuring out when it's appropriate to wear a vest." He smoothed out the one he was wearing as an afterthought.
"How charitable of you to educate them," she sneered, and reached for the cup beside her, taking a hearty swig.
"Hasty kisses against chapped lips, and hands twisted and tangled in ratty hair, and fingernails scraping against rough skin, even as it slowly melts to cloudy fog. This is love, this is love, this is love."
We had a tie for 'Best Kiss'!
She felt his hot breath on the back of her neck before she even kept his arms slide around her waist again. “Are you sure?” he whispered in her ear. His tongue flickered over her earlobe, making it hard for her not to show a reaction.
"I’m fine, thank you,” she whispered. Despite herself, desire stirred within her body and only intensified as he began to kiss, suck, and bite her neck with featherlike touches. She started to use the rolling pin to flatten the dough, using excessive force to try to fight the desire building inside. “Honesty, Draco, stop that.” She moved her neck to expose more to him.
“Do you really want me to stop?” he asked huskily into her ear.
”Yes,” she lied, biting down on her lip to keep to from moaning as he started to grind his arousal into her backside.
He pushed her against the wall and plunged his tongue deeply into her mouth, kissing her so thoroughly that she thought he would be permanently imprinted on her skin and everyone would be able to read ‘Draco, Draco’ written all over her face. His thin, cold hands warmed against her skin, and when he touched her, he was oddly careful, sometimes, completely unlike anything she’d have expected. She hadn’t though Malfoy could be tender, but sometimes, he was. She wondered if that meant anything.

(jandjsalmon:) Jess was confused - I promise I didn't pay her! ;)
(forgetablelove:) I adore Jess' story because it was flangst. I thought, personally, it was the best written fluff in the whole exchange with a quirky sense about it. I thought it was very well written, well structured, and I enjoyed reading it very much. I thought she did a fabulous job with the actions as well as the underlying emotions.
It was so hard to choose. I had many, many favourites.
I chose Under because I cried and cried when I read it. It was beautiful and sad and heartbreaking.
I think this may be one of the best stories I have ever read, not just in the exchange, but anywhere! ;)

Usually on every post I read someone say that she had taken all the words -
and that they couldn't say it any better than she had already!
Yay for our 'Most Ardent Reviewer!'
goten0040 was our VERY first author to get her fic turned in -- weeks early!
So, here she is, with the 'Most Randy to Get the Job Done' Award! Thank you so much!
It was for this reason that the story written FOR her was posted very first! ;)
It may look like peki ran away with most of the awards... so why give her yet another?
Well, she asked (with over a month's notice) for an extension because
she couldn't just stop at a one-shot
(and we knew it was peki so we understood ;)).
We gave her time (quite a bit, actually)... and she still had her fic in
two weeks before the exchange deadline.
Really, she went above and beyond! She deserves this!
fallenwitch is the world's most patient woman
- a wonderful friend and a brilliant D/G fangirl!
She activly participated in our little guessing game
and came out on top with 11/38 guesses correctly!
smittenly was also wonderful.
She was uber-excited about the guessing game
- and she was the one who got the second most answers right with 7/38! ;)
I guess we were VERY tricky this year, eh?
Congrats to both of you - Thank You for Participating! ;)

The 'nice mod' wouldn't have been so nice. It would have been all about horribly done manips of
Harry snogging Ginny while Hermione snogged a very willing Draco!
