what a morning!
i had the meeting with my utd supervisor and the teacher that i will be working with. we met at about 830am this morning. you'll never believe it...it took me EIGHT minutes to get to the school!! EIGHT mintues!! EIGHT minutes will be my commute to work for THREE MONTHS!! i think that almost makes everything worth it right there, ha! the teacher that i am working with is going to be an amazing collegue. i am so blessed that she wants to help me. we sat with my supervisor and went over what the next 12 weeks will look like. the teacher, let's call her 'ms. c', has already told me that they are teaching 'the lightening thief' during the time that i will be teaching. um, hello! i've already read that book AND written lesson plans on it! SCORE. ms. c also informed me that all of the other reading techers know i am coming and are really looking forward to my input during the planning of those lessons and the upcoming media unit. i am so excited! she is really going to make me a part of the team this semester. i am going to learn so much. she has also already set up a desk for me in her classroom and is working on getting me my own computer and database password so that i will be privy to all of the information she is. i really feel that this is going to be a spectacular experience! i am feeling a lot less apprehensive now. she also mentioned that there will be a few positions open at the school next year. i can't even imagine being lucky enough to pick off one of those jobs. i just...well...can't even imagine!
i got to work around 10am only to turn around and leave again at 1045am for a doctor's appointment. when i arrived, i found that i had left my ENTIRE wallet in my utd bag from this morning. ARGH. so after having a small panic attack i talked to the receptionist and was able to call in with credit info after their lunch hour. whew. on the way BACK to the office i went to subway for lunch only to realize that i STILL had no wallet so ended up eating 'mexican wednesday' here at the office. i know, don't be jealous. i am QUITE glad that i am back at work, have a full stomach, and can move on to starting my day now...at 140pm!
katie will be in town this weekend. her boyfriend has set up a birthday party for her at a place with whirleyball and lasertag. we're going to geek it up in style, yes! i'm looking forward to it. that will be my fun for the weekend. the rest of the weekend will be focused on pulling everything together to start school on monday. i've still got so much to DO. it is just overwhelming to think about. i'm still ticking things off of my list from saturday's meeting. i have also roped myself into going up to the school to meet with ms. c's department for their meeting on monday afternoon. so much for a day off! at least i'll get to sleep in!
anyway...enough rambling. i just felt like gabbing :)
