And here we have a beautiful young woman, almost nineteen, practically bouncing in. She has eyes so blue they just about jump out at you, and long, long hair, inherited from her mother, originally the blackest black imaginable, but now dyed multiple colors you don't actually find in nature

Look, Elena, someone with even bluer eyes than you! Hence why she's arching an amused eyebrow, and with a faint grin and slight nod -- "Nice eyes. Seraphina Hades. Welcome to the insanity." The white ferret curled up on her shoulder will raise his head a little, sniffing the air cautiously.

Wow. That's the first she's seen of that. But surprisingly, she's not jealous. Maybe just a little awed. "Not as nice as yours! I've never seen eyes like that before..." She shakes her head a little, to clear it. "I'm Lena Thropp-Cohen." She looks a little excited. "Is it really insane here?"

She can't help grinning a little more at that, amused but not unkindly so. "My father's. He's an angel, so they're pretty distinctive -- I've got a few half-siblings who share them wandering around here." And further amusion, yes; new people are so fun. "More so than you can imagine, probably. But you can have a good time, if you know where to find it."

"I've never met an angel before. Are they really all... floating around in sandals with harps?" She grins. "I already know a lot of people here, so I'm really not all too worried. Besides, insanity is healthy."

Okay, she really can't help that snort of laughter. "Not quite. Mum can fly, but he usually wears dress shoes and he doesn't even leave his wings out. Though I play the harp." She nods slightly. "You'll probably meet a lot of new people anyway -- case in point here -- though you want to be careful of some of my family. And of course it is. That's a good thing to know going in here." She grins again.

She satisfied with that. "Good. I hate it when things are like what the stories say they are. My family's a perfect example." She bounces a little. "Oh, good! I love meeting new people!" She laughs. "If I didn't believe that little piece of wisdom, I'd've never survived my family."

"Oh?" She tilts her head slightly. "Do tell." And further looking amused, yes. "You'll see plenty here. And oh, another one? It's impossible to survive my family if you don't know that. Often literally."

She shrugs. "There were... well, are stories about my mom. Most are lies, some are half-truths." She'd go on, but she hates fishing for pity. So no thanks. "What's your family like?"

"Huh. Interesting." She's curious, of course, but she won't pry. "My family is..." Oh, what a question. "Half is angelic, like I told you, and the other half's some of the worst, most dangerous criminals the world's ever seen." No use sugarcoating it, really.

Lena's grateful for that. Her eyes widen. "Really. How'd that all come about?"

"Them being criminals or the weird mix of families?" She grins. "The former, they've been raised like that for generations. The latter, we're still not quite sure, but Dad and Mum are kind of disgustingly in love."

She giggles and makes a face. "Old people in love are so weird. I refuse to acknowledge that my parents still have sex."

She'll make one in turn, then, looking horrified. "Oh, Christ, don't talk to me about parentsex. Xathanael and I still can't sleep at night from the noise."

"That's what my cousins tell me about their parents." She shudders. "At least if my mom and dad do it, they keep it down. Plus the walls are too thick for most sound to get through."

"Lucky. I think Dad and Mum just forget that aren't alone in the house, and -- well, enjoy themselves, presumably." Another rather disgusted face. "Of course, if anyone ever mentions it, Dad just -- is himself about it, like this -- " And she'll give a fairly good approximation of Phlegethon Hades's infamous >:D face. "And Mum'll blush and pretend no one said anything. I think he still likes to pretend that no one knows he has sex."
