There was dust here, layers of dirt coating the unused furniture, but some time ago, the dust melted away. The couches began to look new again. The kitchen cupboards replenished themselves and the plothole in the closet began spinning once more

Tristan pauses and glances around. Hold on, this isn't where he was just a minute ago. Oh well.
"Helloooo?" He asks, addressing the room at large. "I'd like to say that I missed you all, but there's nobody here to miss, unfortunately - unless I was talking to the walls or the furniture, of course, but I'm not the Pendergast that personifies inanimate objects and gives them names. Shoot! I wasn't supposed to tell anyone that secret - not that I did, since nobody's here - but vodka and Red Bull will do weird things to a person. And by person, I mean R--"
He clamps a hand over his own mouth. Not that there's anyone in the room to hear the rest of his sentence ...yet.

"What's a pretty boy like you doing in a place like this, sweetheart?" It comes out sounding convincingly like he's talking to some attractive stranger, as long as you don't look at the delight on his face.

"Not telling secrets about my brother to the walls!" He replies brightly, then pauses. Oh right. Flirting. "Wait! -- Um. I don't know? I was wandering around, minding my own business, definitely not talking to myself, and then out of nowhere - literally - a striking stranger appeared, and here I am!"
Tristan kind of sucks at coy flirting.

Wait, wait. Focus, maintain. "Striking, mm?" he says, smirking a little. "Tell me more. Is he charming? Devilishly so, maybe? Would you say 'tall, dark, and handsome' applies?"

He's distracted about the (quite old hat, in fact) idea of Aloysius being Big Brother, because it's time to go into 'LET ME TELL YOU ALLLLL ABOUT EREBUS' mode. "Well, I'm glad you asked, because this mysterious person was definitely charming - and he was handsome, which probably contributed in part to him being so charming, though I'd like to think that it's something that comes to him naturally -- the being charming part, I mean, not the being handsome part - though I guess that's a natural trait as well ...but aren't most physical traits? And most personality traits, too, if you believe in the nature part of the nature-nurture argument-- Anyway, he also makes me laugh and cheers me up every single time I see him, because he's Ereb-- I -- wait, I mean -- a complete stranger! He was a complete stranger and I had never seen him before in my life, but the first time I saw him, he was so charming and magical that I thought he was a wizard."

"I am a wizard," he says brightly, entirely failing to sound mysterious or dashing. "Because you find me so enchanting, baby, see?" Here he laughs at his own joke, being the kind of person to do that. "So maybe me and this stranger are, in fact, one and the same? What do you think?"
Reply
"Charming, handsome, magical -- check! I guess you are the mysterious stranger after all, would you look at that." He gives Erebus a bright smile and, all right, now is probably the time to (finally) fling himself at him. "If you're a wizard, then you can cast all the spells on me you want, if you know what I mean by spells - and I think you do, though I'm not really sure myself."

To be fair, he probably says something about how Tristan is looking exceptionally great every day.

"Well," and he continues, with barely a pause, "not literally all for you, since if that was the case, I'd probably be invisible to everyone except for you -- which could be fun, but I think it'd get annoying after a while." Something then strikes him and he makes a slight face (a fond face, primarily!). "Although, I'm sure you'd think it was the best thing in the world."
