more logs from last night

These slightly overlap with the Theisman/McQueen logs of amusion. Apologies to Alona.

Session Start (AbleNet:#desperatefans): Sun Oct 02 18:15:24 2005

Armand: *goes to sit by Esther* I think someone gets killed everyday here.

Feanaro: *is not yet here, no*
Feanaro: *okay, comes back now. Fuming.*

Aredhel: *has, erm, wandered back into the main room. After cleaning the kitchen.*

Armand: *was trying to talk to Esther and failing to get her attention* *sitting near her for now*

Esther: *responds VERY LATE to Armand, hello failing typist* ...Oh? That's.. unfortunate.

Aredhel: *blinks at fuming!Fea* ...Uncle?

Feanaro: Yes, Irissë?

Aredhel: ...Are you all right?

Armand: *sees fuming father* Ada? *bites lip and nods at Esther* Are you really sure you want to be here, Admiral?

Feanaro: Oh, I am fine. Of course.
Feanaro: *sits down heavily*

Esther: *shrug* I don't have a choice, as far as I can see. Anything is a risk... This is the first I've heard of it, and I've been here a week.

Aredhel: *...is not going to push* *erm, apparently has tea-in-hand, so goes over to a random couch and curls up with it*

Armand: *near us, Ada?*
Armand: Well, some days there are dozens, so it averages out. *remembers that one spot of memory in his blank week when Beezie killed so many people*

Feanaro: *likely, yes*

Esther: *sigh* There isn't much I can do, in any case. It's unfortunate that this place isn't quite as safe as I assumed, but I'll just have to work with it.

Armand: *curls up against him if its possible but still wants to talk to Esther instead of explain his lack of artistic talent*

Feanaro: *is NOT going to talk about that currently, never worry*
Feanaro: *also, is tense and not very comfy right now*

Armand: There are ways to be safer, but I don't know what to do about the vampires. There are a lot of them. Two new ones just this weekend.
Armand: *would curl to comfort as well as get it*

Esther: There has to be a way to avoid the vampires... There can't be that many of them, after all, and they can't kill that often, right?

Feanaro: *isn't easily comforted, alas* *also, so not telling anything*

Armand: Well, a lot of them don't kill. Amadeo has bitten me before. I didn't even have a mark afterwards. *sighs* I wonder if it was one of them. I didn't like how that M. Zillah was looking at me at all.
Armand: *bad Fea* *would get lots of hugs if not also talking to Esther*

Feanaro: *is fuming quietly*

Esther: *mouth twists* Zillah is my headmate, unfortunately, but I don't really feel threatened. My typist is neurotic about keeping him away from the rest of us.. which apparently didn't work for Mr. Hallward.

Armand: *pales a bit remembering* I think he would have bitten me. M. Christian too.

Esther: I really hope you'll be all right. You should stay away from anyone who looks dangerous...

Feanaro: *hears that* *is torn out of his fuming, slightly* *sharply* Who would?!

Armand: Once I figure it out... I greet nearly everyone. No one touched me, Ada. I just think M. Zillah was a bit hungry.

Feanaro: *still angry, so, not a good topic* 'A bit hungry'?!

Esther: *nods* I see... *oh, look, angry Fea. Eeep*

Armand: *bites lip* I was greeting M. Zillah, because M.Christian was looking for him the other day... he-- *can see Ada is upset* got very close. I think he was hungry. I left.

Feanaro: GOOD.

Armand: *flinches slightly* I didn't do anything wrong, Ada. I always greet the newcomers.

Feanaro: Perhaps you should be a bit more careful then.

Armand: Careful how, Ada?

Feanaro: Well, don't greet everybody.

Armand: How do I know if they're bad to greet or not?

Feanaro: *slightly exasperated* Well, watch for a while! Avoid people who are overly vague, or who seem to hide something. Don't trust 'harmless travellers'. Use some common sense, for Eru's sake!

*** Alix has joined #desperatefans.

Esther: ...*sitting around listening to Armand and Fea talk, okay then*

Alix: *sees Armand and wonders if she should intrude*

Armand: But that's rude. I greeted M. Bliss last night. And he was terribly nice. M. Christian was a little scary but I think I scared him too. But I do think M. Zillah meant to bite me. I left. So I'm fine!
Armand: *would talk to Esther too, esp. as she wouldn't be scolding him*

Feanaro: Yes, but maybe some day you won't be able to leave in time. Try and be a bit more careful!

Armand: *though Alistair probably would scold*
Armand: *stubborn* Ada, I won't be rude. There's a reason I know nearly everyone, and that is a good thing. This is how.

Feanaro: *angry* I don't want you to be rude, I want you to keep away from danger! And trust me, your safety is more important to me than manners.

Armand: Not everyone who shows up here is dangerous!
Armand: Oh hello Legolas! *goes back to glaring up at Feanor*

Feanaro: Not everyone perhaps, but far too many people! Can't you at least wait a while until you can judge whether somebody is dangerous or not?!

Legolas: Hello Armand *to Esther* Aye, I am Legolas.

Feanaro: *nods to Legs, curtly*

Armand: *bites lip* Then I'll forget, and miss people. *sighs* It would't have helped today. I was looking for M. Zillah for M. Christian.

Feanaro: And why were you trusting that Christian person?

Armand: He seemed frightened. *small voice* Of me. I wanted to make it up to him.

Feanaro: *truly exasperated now* Make it up to him by risking your life?

Armand: I didn't know M. Zillah was one too until well... then I left. I can tell when someone wants my body or my blood by now. *shivers*

Feanaro: *purses lips* That's all very well, but it's still too dangerous. What if you can't leave?

Armand: Ada, just living here is risky. I make mistakes but I am not stupid.

Feanaro: There is no need to endanger yourself MORE, however.

Armand: *exasperated too* I know greeting people is risky, but it is worth it. That is how I know so many people!

Feanaro: *clenches fists* I won't have my son run into death just because he deems it necessary to meet new people.

Armand: I am not running into death. Honestly.

Feanaro: Walking there, then. No better.

Armand: That is not what I meant.

Feanaro: I know. But you simply do not understand.

Armand: I suppose I don't. *sighs and sits back wearily*

Feanaro: *gets up wearily* Right. I'll retire, then.

Armand: *small voice* Goodnight, Ada. I'm sorry.

Feanaro: Good night, Armand.

[Ro: *doesn't like the way Fea is treating Armand, not at all*]

[Fëa: *luffs Armand!* *is only worried!* *and has been unjustly accused of having murdered Basil, which didn't do much for his mood*]

Feanaro: *stalks off*

Armand: *watches him go, biting lip almost bloody*

*** Feanaro has left #desperatefans.

Armand: *jumps up and goes into the kitchen* *a bit too fast*

Legolas: *sees Armand go* Meleth...Armand is looking like he could use a friend...

Alix: Oh, dear. Where is he?

Legolas: He ran off to the kitchen.

Armand: *is looking around the kitchen not quite believing how clean it is*

Alix: Yes, I do. Although I have no idea what you'll come up with that one...excuse me, everyone, but Armand needs tending to, apparently...*kisses Legolas quickly and heads for kitchen*

Ar: *HAS MAD CLEANING SKILLZ, KTHX*

Armand: *kicks the counter and looks out the window*

Alix: *enters kitchen* Armand? Are you all right?

Armand: I'm fine!

Alix: Do you want to come and sit with us, and talk with Admiral McQueen?

Armand: I was talking to Admiral McQueen. Feanor--*shakes his head in sheer frustration* He wants me to stop greeting people.

Alix: Feanor can shove it.
Alix: You've always done that. And you can take care of yourself. I've been doing it, Esther does it, and if we can, well...so can you. Esther's even teensier and cuter than you are.

Armand: But Feanor is not her father. Apparently, it's not an acceptable risk.

Alix: You know? Just don't tell Feanor what you're doing.
Alix: Some minutes, he's good, like what he does for me and Hermione, but other times he's a complete and utter wanker.

Armand: I won't stop, but I hate to be fighting with him. I didn't mean to tell him this time. I was telling the Admiral.

Alix: Oops.
Alix: Feanor fights with everybody. It's just what he does. Ignore it.

Armand: There was a vampire that-- wanted to eat me, I think.
Armand: And he doesn't fight with everyone. *glares at Alistair*

Alix: Well, he occasionally has differences of opinions with everyone, should we say that?
Alix: And, hell, Armand, I think some of the vampires around here have wanted to eat me too. *remembers something that may or may not have happened one night
Alix: Feanor will calm down. I think he just needs these random moments of irritation to function like a normal human...wait, a normal Elven being.

Armand: *dangerously* I wish it had bitten me.

Alix: Your life does not suck that much, pun not intended.

Armand: No, but having so many parents does reduce one to being treated like a child. It's frustrating. I just want--sometimes I wish he hadn't adopted me.

Alix: *wants to get back to the main room, as has left her fiance to the mercies of two talky admirals* You know...sometimes I wish that too.

Honor: *...talky? SINCE WHEN?*

Alix: And am I treating you like a child right now? No. I'm giving you the sort of advice I give all my junior officers.
Alix: [talky compared to Legolas, my lady]

Honor: (.................that's kind of scary.)

Legolas: [yeah, Leggy doesn't talk much...]

Armand: Thank you, Alistair. But if I had been killed, you'd've lectured me too.

Alix: Well, I lectured you that time you did die and I hadn't even thought of adopting you yet! I'd only known you eight days.

Armand: That's the only reason I ran away. I felt sorry for Zillah if Feanor thought he killed me, and I didn't want more lectures.

Alix: Armand...sometimes, I swear...*laughs a little*
Alix: You do take after me, I think.

Armand: *hugs Alistair with a small smile* Get back to your fiance. I'm sure the admirals are scaring him.

Alix: Are you going to come out?
Alix: We won't bite. Unlike the vampire. *grins*

Legolas: *is currently staring off into space, and not really noticing the chatter of the Admirals*

Armand: Yes. I have to get the plans off the table. *nods*

Alix: Plans?

Armand: We were working on them earlier. The plans for my new room.

Alix: Ooh! For Feanor's new house?

*** Nerdanel has joined #desperatefans.

Alix: Hmm. We can go out and you can show them to me? I promise I'll pay attention, as much as I possibly can...

Armand: Yes. *smiles* Want to see?

Nimitz: *bleeks at Ner*

Alix: Definitely!

Armand: *sees Ner from the door* Naneth!

Alix: Nerdanel?

Armand: *goes to table where the plans still are*

Alix: *walks out and sits next to Legolas* Sorry about that. You know how it is...

Esther: Hello, Lady Nerdanel. *smiles*

Nerdanel: *smiles brightly and walks over to them* Hello! *says the same to Nimitz, in sign*

Honor: *smiles and oh! A pleasantly surprised Nimitz! Who ... signs something about it being nice to see her again, yep*

Alix: *waves to Nerdanel...hopefully, is still sitting nearby Esther and Honor, right?*

Legolas: Suilad Nerdanel

Nerdanel: *beams at all of them* How is everyone?

Legolas: I am well, and yourself?

Armand: *looks at the plans and blinks away a few tears* *bites lip and looks up to watch Ner*

Alix: I'm feeling absolutely wonderful, for the most part, Nerdanel, to add to your responses.

Esther: Quite well, thank you.

Honor: Wonderful. And how are you?

Nerdanel: *smiles* Good to hear. I am doing quite wonderful.

Legolas: *looks at Armand*

Alix: Armand, dear, come over here.

Nerdanel: *to Legolas and Alistair* I heard the news! I am so happy for you both!

Legolas: thank you

Alix: *grins* Thank you. I'm probably happier than anything, right now*

Nerdanel: *hugs Alistair*

Armand: *picks up the paper with the plans and rolls it up to bring with him* *forces a smile*
Armand: *goes to where the others are gathered*

Alix: *hugs Nerdanel* I'm sorry I didn't get to tell you first.

Nerdanel: It's alright dear... *smiles and hugs Armand once he puts the plans down*

Armand: *hugs Nerdanel* *actually hangs on to them* Bonsoir, dear Naneth.

Nerdanel: It's good to see you.

Armand: You're just the person I need to see.

Nerdanel: Oh? *smile* What for?

Armand: You're an artist.

Nerdanel: Do you need something drawn?

Alix: *sitting directly next to Legolas and resting her head on his shoulder*

Armand: I need to be taught how to draw. And trust me, I'm all thumbs but Ada wn't believe me.

Legolas: *plays with her hair...not really noticing that he is doing that*

Alix: *notices but likes it, so says nothing*

Nerdanel: I'll certainly teach you what I can...Hmmm. I still need to teach you and Alistair Quenya and Sindarian, do I not?

Alix: *quietly* Yes, you do.

Armand: Yes, but drawing will probably be easier. There is an alphabet or two to learn as well?

Esther: *paying attention to Ner* ...Are those your languages? Would you mind teaching me, as well? *very, very happy to learn to new things*

Honor: *oh, look, is tired* *..yawns* ...I'm going to go to sleep. Good night, you all.
*** Honor has left #desperatefans.

Legolas: *quietly* they are my languages too, although Sindarin is spoken more

Nerdanel: Apologies, Alistair. *looks at him* Yes, there will be. *to Esther* Of course, my lady, if you would like.

Alix: Which is why I'm learning them, dear.

Armand: *pained smile* I'm just a professional student.

Esther: Professional student... That sounds fun.

Alix: We all need something to do, don't we?

Armand: There's no money involved, but it is my job these days.
Armand: Except I've been playing hookey enjoying the weather.

Alix: It is lovely out there, isn't it?

Nerdanel: We will have to get you started soon, then.

Legolas: I can help too...that is if you want my help?

Alix: With the languages? I'd love that.

Legolas: yes, with the languages, and with writing them

Nerdanel: *nods* Certainly, Legolas. You will be most help, especially with Sindarian, as it is not my first language. *smile*

Armand: I think we'll need all the help we can get. *nods absently*

Legolas: Yes, I am much better with Sindarin than Quenya.

Esther: *cheerful* When could we start these lessons?

Nerdanel: When is good for all of you?

Esther: I'm available almost any time during the afternoon and evening.

Armand: There's a brief window most evenings that I'm around. Could you just set lessons?

Legolas: any time would work for me even if my typist isn't around

Alix: Same here. [as was said, we could always pretend...]

Nerdanel: *smiles* Evenings, then...how often a week?

Alix: As often as you deem necessary.
Alix: Armand, when you finally learn the trick of house plans, you'll need to tell us.

Armand: I don't understand house plans. *unrolls parchment* This is just my room.
Armand: *shows it to them* On a corner.

Legolas: *looks at it* Yes I can see how that could be confusing

Nerdanel: *looks over their shoulders at it*

Alix: It looks like a nice site.

Armand: *sighs* It's not big, but I will be having a place of my own in the spring. *smiles*

Alix: I've seen enough spaceship plans, but the symbols BuShips uses for those and what you all are doing are completely different.
Alix: Is that when you'll be married?

Armand: But Feanor wants me to draw the furniture I want. *eyes wide*

Nerdanel: *smiles* And you are afraid your skill will not be good enough?

Alix: Ah. Now I see your problem.

Armand: I think. Nothing is in stone yet. Early spring is what is being looked at.
Armand: I -know- my skill isn't good enough. I couldnt manage stick figures when I was fourteen.

Alix: *whispers to Legolas* Now I'm thinking about house plans myself...

Legolas: *grins*

Nerdanel: It is alright. We will work on that, dear. That was several years ago. Perhaps you just need a fresh start.

Alix: *still whispering* How many bedrooms do you think /we'll/ need?

Armand: Furniture? *rueful smile*

Legolas: *whispering back* how many kids do you think we should have?

Nerdanel: It's not that hard. Easier than the form of a body, if you do not overcomplicate designs.

Alix: *whispers back, and blushing* I don't know...at least two...if I can handle it...

Armand: I want simple things. Functional. But people study how to design and draw for years.

Legolas: So a smaller house would work. maybe 4 bedrooms...

Alix: That's about right. Just in case. We could always build on, if it's planned right...

Nerdanel: True. But I will help you with that.

Armand: *bites lip* I need a bed, a wardrobe and a chair. I think. *looks worried*

Nerdanel: What about your lady?

Legolas: True...

Armand: *blushes* I was told she wouldn't be staying at the house until after we were married, but it is to be a big bed, for after.

Alix: *snuggles even closer* And we have to wait a year. Poor us.

Nerdanel: *grins slightly*

Legolas: ...a year is not that long when one has already seen 2000 years

Nerdanel: Alright. And will she want any other furniture?

Armand: *gives Alistair a look* Even -you- are going to outlive me by at least a century. Please don't make us wait a year.

Legolas: but I do not know what is would be like for you

Armand: It's not a big room.

Nerdanel: *tilts head* Alright.

Armand: Two chairs, but they could be alike. A ladies dresser....

Alix: I can handle it, although I wish...but that would be doing things too early, and I want to be proper.
Alix: *is actually listening to Armand*

Armand: *frowns* Are you implying I'm not being proper?

Alix: No, no, but you are not marrying an Elf, Armand.

Legolas: *has a typist that is falling asleep at the computer again*

Armand: No, just most of my family is elves.

Legolas: Do they have any objections about your wedding?

Armand: Feanor did try for the year long engagement.

Nerdanel: Did he? He is very stuck on tradition. *smiles fondly*

Alix: I was told about that too.
Alix: So I assumed it was just done...

Legolas: I would not worry about it, for each couple is different

Armand: I talked him into spring. I wanted to wait until Margot had her baby anyway.

Legolas: *kisses Alistair gently* I am sorry, meleth, but I need to get some sleep

Alix: Understood, although I wish you didn't need to go...I barely see you the way it is...*hugs him* Come back to me soon.

Legolas: I will try my best.

Alix: Same here. *looks at him with complete devotion*

*** Legolas has signed off IRC (Quit).

Armand: *looks to Ner and Alistair* Do you both think it should be longer? *really hopes not*

Alix: No, I don't think it should be longer.
Alix: I can barely hold out myself.

Nerdanel: It is whatever you want, dear.

Armand: *with an air of finality* Spring.

Nerdanel: *smiles*

Alix: Spring's good. It won't interfere with anyone else's wedding, as far as I know.

Armand: There is that.

Alix: Now all we need is for Honor to get married.

Armand: Also, it's as long as I think I can wait.
Armand: Are you going to change back after?

Alix: Yes, I am, Armand.
Alix: Perhaps I'll be less of a temptation to him in advance looking like that. I just realized that this may have had some sort of effect on him. *touches dress*

Armand: It is suggestive.

Nerdanel: *tilts head* Do you mean your female form? *raises eyebrow*

Alix: Doctor Harrington was too much of a bad influence there. She showed up, and I thought, what the heck?
Alix: Yes, that's exactly what I mean.

Armand: No, the dress.
Armand: Well, the form in the dress... *laughs uncertainly*

Alix: In combination, it's deadly. *grins*

Nerdanel: I do not think it matters to him. *amused smile*
Nerdanel: Or will.

Alix: Well, he hasn't seen me yet...

Armand: I think when you change back, you'll be a little more trim.

Alix: Well, definitely, there, but I'll still look like me. You remember that.

Nerdanel: And you look just fine, Alistair, in either form.

Alix: It's me the worrywart striking again.

Armand: You're you, Alistair. *laughs*

Alix: And I can't stop worrying!

Armand: Don't worry!

Nerdanel: It will be perfectly fine, Alistair.

Alix: Allison told me that. I suppose I should call her by her first name; everyone else does.

Armand: She was most insistent. And she and Bel get on like a house on fire!

Alix: I knew they would. This dress was Bel's idea. It found it for me in the plothole a few weeks back. After talking to Allison and Esther, I thought I may as well try it out.

Armand: It is cute, Alistair.

Alix: Thank you. It seems to have had an effect on Honor, too. She was staring at me.

Nerdanel: It's just very different from your normal garb.

Alix: I know I said I'd start dressing more normally in the lead-up, Armand, but if I can make Honor flail about, so much the better.

Armand: *rolls eyes* Yes, Alistair you are so normal. I have been meaning to ask you, should I move down the hall until Feanor's house is done?

Alix: Why? Legolas isn't staying with me permanently.

Armand: Just sometimes. *blushes*

Alix: Well, we will be after we're wed, of course, but for now...we should probably not be sleeping together, even if all we have done is sleep.

Armand: Alistair, what happens if I come home again--

Alix: --and find us in bed together? I'm sorry. It shan't happen again.

Nerdanel: *puts hand over her mouth in an attempt not to giggle*

Alix: Well, it's probably a good thing you didn't know about...*looks at Theisman guiltily*

Armand: Know about what? Who else have you been "not" sleeping with?

Nerdanel: *raises eyebrow*

Alix: I didn't sleep with him. Those two days you were out he was using your bed.

Armand: Oh.
Armand: Who?
Armand: Admiral Theisman?

Alix: Admiral Theisman. He needed a place to stay.
Alix: Then he was in the bathtub for a few more days, but he always cleared out before you woke up.

Armand: I find that deeply strange. Did you change the sheets?

Alix: Yes, I did, Armand. I changed them before he slept there and I changed them after he did. He's not /diseased/...

Armand: It's just creepy.

Alix: He's a headmate, Armand, what was I to do?

Armand: Show him that there are other rooms?

Alix: I did. He was worried about getting killed.

Armand: By whom?

Alix: And he's not staying there anymore, and won't, and besides that he's not a threat at all to you in any way whatsoever nor to me.

Alix: The other bad Peeps, Armand. Remember the kitchen incident? Them.

Nerdanel: *frowns at the memory*
Nerdanel: *and, yes, exists. hi*

Armand: My namesake and his, uh, boss. They snog, y'know.
Armand: *would be so curled up on Ner if not talking about weird things to Alistair*

Alix: I seem to have heard that from somewhere, too. *looks at Theisman again*

Armand: *sighs* Headmates, too, remember?

Alix: We're both afflicted, I think.

Armand: *hugs Alistair* Peeps.

Alix: *hugs Armand* At least I got the good one. Heh.

Armand: And I got a Saint-Just. Is it karma?

Alix: No, it's got something to do with our typy-peoples. I can't explain it, and meta makes my head spin. Ow.

Armand: They're obsessed?

Alix: Maybe...*looks at Nerdanel* So, you were talking about furniture earlier. I got distracted.

Armand: Yes. Feanor wants me to design the furniture for my room. Naneth?

Nerdanel: Yes dear?

Armand: *squeaks* Save me from the pencils?

Nerdanel: *laughs* I'll help you tame them, do not worry.

Armand: I can do straight lines. That's what rulers are for.

Nerdanel: *smiles* There are other tools that can help.

Alix: I'd like to learn how to make furniture. I'm feeling crafty.

Armand: You did a wonderful job with Marigold's hutch.

Nerdanel: I'll teach what I can. *beams slightly at them*

Armand: Merci, Naneth. How do you say thank you?

Alix: I did, Armand? Thanks.

Nerdanel: Hantanye.

Armand: *thinks a moment* Hantanye. *smiles* It's odd mixing it with French.

Nerdanel: *smiles back*

Alix: That sounds odd, but I'll remember it. Thank you...wait, hantanye.

Nerdanel: *grins*
Nerdanel: It is a start.
Nerdanel: [[It may have a ë on it...not sure.]]

Armand: What is the secret to furniture, Naneth?

Alix: Well, it's a very good start. Legolas has been whispering things in my ear I can't understand...

Nerdanel: Secret? I do not know there is much of secret. Just takes time, and practice. *to Alistair* I'm not sure if I'll be teaching you those words.

Armand: *laughs* Perhaps you should ask Legolas for special lessons, Alistair.

Alix: *blushes* Well, he can take care of that, yes. Very special lessons.

Nerdanel: *giggles*

Alix: I still can't get over it. I'm sorry I've been such a one-track mind lately.

Nerdanel: *grins*

Armand: *whistles*

Alix: Someone needs to go back and visit the me of four months ago and tell me that instead of being ensconced in a nice warship, I will be engaged to an elven prince. I swear, he'd tell that person I was crazy.

Nerdanel: *laughs* I suppose he would.

Armand: *laughs* I would like that job because then I get to see your ship!

Nerdanel: I would not. *amused* I think I prefer this future.

Alix: I'd gladly give it to you if it was possible. Mention that, by the way, you're his son, and it would be even more perfect. Well, I'd like showing off the ship.
Alix: I prefer it too, come to think of it. I'm prepared to stay. I have things I want to do here that I can't do there, for one thing.

Armand: I think I'll save that news.
Armand: I'm glad you're here, Alistair. I think you know why.

Alix: What news?

Nerdanel: *looks at Armand*

Armand: The son thing.

Alix: Oh. *laughs*

Armand: *doesn't look at Ner as he's looking at his knees*

Alix: I'm glad I'm here for you too. You changed my life. Literally. I wouldn't have this if not for you.

Armand: *looks up at them, half-smiling, half-teary*

Alix: I can't lie, Armand...

Nerdanel: Are you alright, dear? *puts a hand on his arm*

Armand: Just remembering a really bad night.

Alix: Oh, Armand! *gets up and hugs him*

Armand: *hugs Alistair* I don't think I ever thanked you.

Alix: You didn't need to. I already know.

Armand: *cries*
Armand: *not a lot as is smiling too*

Alix: *holds him* You'll always be my son, no matter what.

Armand: *squeezes tight*

Nerdanel: *smiles at both of them*

Alix: I know you were worried. And no matter what happens, I'll never kick you away.

Armand: I think of everything that happened this summer, losing that baby was probably the worst. No one ever has another chance at a FIRST child.

Alix: You'll have other chances, I think.
Alix: At others. It's hard, but...

Armand: *lets go and looks over at Nerdanel* I'm sorry, Naneth. I feel like we're ignoring you.

Nerdanel: It's alright. *smile* I am rather sleepy and thus not very good company anyway.

Alix: Oh? That's too bad.
Alix: Everyone's sleepy. You and Honor, especially.

Nerdanel: *smile* Typist faults, I think.

Armand: I can't remember. Did I tell you about the baby?

Nerdanel: *nods* You have.

Alix: *nods*

Armand: *nods* good. Means I don't have to do it now.

Armand: *goes to hug Nerdanel* Thank you for being my mother.

Nerdanel: *smiles brightly and hugs him tightly* Thank you for being my son.

Armand: I think I need to get myself to bed before I get more emotional. Maybe.

Nerdanel: It is alright dear. *kisses him on the temple* But speaking of bed, I must seek my own.

Alix: Good night, Armand. *hugs him* I'll be there soon.
Alix: *hugs Nerdanel* I do need to talk with you, but I have plenty of time.

Nerdanel: *hugs back* I will try to be here tomorrow. Apologies for my absence.

Alix: I don't know about myself...but I'll try as well.

Armand: Don't apologize. I love you both. And Naneth, if you see Ada, tell him I'm not mad at him. I will try to be careful.

Nerdanel: Goodnight, dears. I love you too. *blinks* ...I will. Sleep well.

Armand: *smiles and goes toward the stairs*

Session Start (AbleNet:#desperatefans): Sun Oct 02 23:15:24 2005

Armand: *wanders down the stairs*

Lisa: *MOCKS ARMAND*

Armand: *stares at the typist and thinks he must be dreaming*
Armand: *slips over to Theisman and McQueen* *tis a scary world when they look like safety* Evening.

Theisman: Hullo.

Esther: Hello again.

Armand: I need earplugs.

Theisman: Why, McKeon's snoring?

Esther: ...Check the plothole? ...Though it's on the other side of the room. I don't know what you'll encounter on your way there...

Armand: Yes, she's snoring. *sighs*
Armand: I also need a drink, which isn't a good idea. Not really.

Theisman: No, you'll come up there drunk off your ass and wearing earplugs.

Armand: Drunk off my ass isn't a good condition for me.

Esther: The earplugs and drink might be a little redundant, as far as blocking the sound...

Theisman: Nor for me.

Armand: The drink is for the internal noise.

Theisman: And McKeon would probably chew you out for hours.

Esther: *nods* With the way Lord Feanor was going at you for daring to greet people... I'd hate to see what would happen if you were drunk.

Armand: Actually, they don't care much if I drink though it was iffy when I was sick.

Theisman: Well, there's drinking and there's drunk.
Theisman: I don't think she'd appreciate drunk.

Armand: I don't think she's ever seen me completely drunk.

Theisman: Oh?

Armand: I haven't done it the whole time I've been here. I tried very hard one night but I think that was before she arrived.

Theisman: Good.
Theisman: Don't get drunk. It's not worth it.

Armand: Maybe another night. Not this one.

Esther: *blinks* Really, I'm not against occasional drinking, but... overdoing seems like an unnecessary risk.

Chauvelin: *wanders in and sits in a corner*

Theisman: It is. I got loaded one night when I was at the academy...
Theisman: I never, ever, wish to repeat that experience.

Esther: ...*wince* That must have been.. an experience.

Armand: There are times when it is completely appropriate. *see Chauvelin and ponders*

Theisman: It was. A /bad/ one.
Theisman: Who's that?
Theisman: You're looking at someone...?

Armand: *nods to them* I see someone I ought to talk to...
Armand: That would be Citizen Chauvelin. Could you excuse me?

Esther: All right, certainly. Don't get yourself in trouble....

Armand: I'll try. It's always iffy with him, but I am grown up. I can take risks.

Esther: Certainly. *will still keep a peripheral-vision watch on him*

Theisman: No problem. Go off.

Armand: I hope you both have a good evening.
Armand: *goes over to Chauvelin* Bonsoir. *cautiously*

Theisman: We will!

Chauvelin: *glances up* Ah, Armand.

Armand: You haven't been around much. *small smile*

Esther: Ah well. *watches after Armand*

Chauvelin: Yes, well, I fear I've been...traveling.

Armand: *head to one side* Travelling? Where?

Theisman: Did he call that guy Citizen?

Chauvelin: *quietly* Paris.

Esther: *sigh* Yes. See Repeating Itself, History.

Armand: *eyes wide* How did you find it? I haven't been there in some time. *is lying yes*

Chauvelin: It was...about as I recalled it.

Armand: Some things just don't change, I suppose.

Chauvelin: True...some things never change...

Armand: *gently* Are you alright?

Chauvelin: As alright as I ever am, I suppose.

Armand: You haven't been very well this summer.

Chauvelin: I'm getting better. Actually, my trip to Paris did me worlds of good.

Armand: *almost afraid to ask* Did you see anyone in Paris?

Chauvelin: Yes...I visited an old friend.

Armand: *faintly* Who?

Chauvelin: Robespierre.

Armand: *flinches* I see. I don't suppose his vision for France has changed any.

Chauvelin: Not really.

Armand: *bites lip and nods* You've gone back, haven't you?

Chauvelin: *nods slowly* It's not as if I know how to do anything else.

Armand: *stares at the ground a long time with his jaw clenched* I'll miss you. I'm sorry.

Chauvelin: I'm sorry too, I suppose. But then, you're the only one who ever believed I was trying to change anyway.

Armand: *looks up at him at last* Because I needed you to. I'm not so generous as you think. Thank you for telling me.

Chauvelin: It only seemed fair to warn you. Please...please make sure Percy and Marguerite find out.

Armand: I'll tell them. You're right. I don't think they believed me the first time. I guess you're not invited to the wedding.

Chauvelin: *shrugs* I swear I won't crash it.

Armand: Maybe this is why I couldn't sleep.

Chauvelin: Could be.

Armand: I wish you health but not success.

Chauvelin: I wish luck in love if not in life.

Armand: And if you see that oily cousin of mine, give him my regards.

Chauvelin: *old fox-smile* But of course.

Armand: *backs away a little nervously as that smile scares him* *sadly though* Goodbye.

Chauvelin: Goodbye then.

Armand: *doesn't turn away until he's at least six feet from Chauvelin, then turns abruptly and goes back to where McQueen and Theisman are sitting* *doesn't look back*
Armand: *sits down heavily near them*

Theisman: Greetings, Armand.

Esther: *...is comforting an emo Theisman, okay* How did your talk go, Armand?

Armand: There wasn't any blood but other than about as badly as it could go.

Theisman: Who's that Chauvelin to you anyway?

Armand: He used to be a very good friend. *sighs*

Esther: *knows who Chauvelin is, so* What happened? Reconciliation not going too well?

Chauvelin: *sighs heavily and pulls out an all-too-familiar black book*

Armand: He's gone back. *bitterly*

Theisman: Back to what?

Esther: ...*wince* I'm sorry... What...?

Armand: He works for the Committee.

Theisman: That's not good. From what McKeon told me, you don't.

Armand: I'm not the one he really cares about. Lucky me.
Armand: Moderation is a crime in France these days.

Theisman: Sounds familiar.

Esther: ...I sympathize. Utterly.

Theisman: Well, then, Armand, stay here.

Esther: History is really /brilliant/ at repeating itself.

Theisman: Yes, isn't it? *crooked smile*
