Then, however, the Gate happened. Sometimes it seems like Giselle can never get comfortable in one world for very long.
RP Sample [First Person]: Oh goodness. Why does this always seem to end up happening? And this time the magic door hasn't even sent my clothes with me, which just suggest that the wizard who made it probably shouldn't have been working so hard. Of course, I don't remember a magic door... but there must have been one, because this doesn't look anything like Andalasia, or even New York, and Robert said that there weren't any wizards in New York so this must be coming from someplace else where magic works again.
Robert? Morgan? It does feel a little silly calling for them, but there's no point sitting here in silence, after all. Oh, I do wish that there were some clothes here, or even just a curtain or a sail or some sort of fabric around that would do. I suppose I ought to stand up as well... oh, but it is cold. I do hope that I can at least find something to wear before anyone sees me, and then I really must be getting back. I shouldn't forget where this magic door is either; even if I can't see exactly where it is then it must be here somewhere, so this should be the way back as well. But... oh, why did this have to happen now? Just when I was happy in New York? I must find a way back this time, I simply must...
RP Sample [Third Person]: "How did I get here?" She looked around, blue eyes widening in surprise as she considered his question. "Why, through the magic door, of course; I'm sure that everyone here must have come through the same way, because sometimes it seems like nobody really comes from here." Giselle paused, looking over to the window and out to the dark sky, punctuated only by stars and the very faint glow of streetlamps rather than dusted with orange in the way that the sky back in New York had always seemed to be. It was nice to see the stars again, and especially to see that the constellations were still all the same, but it was so dark, so much of the time, that it was difficult to always be happy about them.
"Either that or I suppose that everyone comes from here," she added thoughtfully, turning back to him with a faint, pretty smile. She reached up to push a stray tendril of hair behind her left ear then returned both of her hands to the glass of water in front of her, one ankle just tucked behind the other where she sat. "Because we're all in the same position, after all, which means that the best thing we can do is make new friends and help everybody settle in. The city will be how we make it."
From anybody else it might have sounded like deliberate guile, but even in her handmade dresses of drabbish fabric Giselle still had something of her old life -- well, her old lives -- about her. There was something that gave you the feeling she was still about to burst into song at any moment. "I mean," she continued, "it's unfortunate that we met this way, but sometimes you've got to just... look at the rainbows. And you can't get rainbows without rain, after all."
She reached over and put her hand on his, little lines appearing between her brows as a look of concern came to her features. "You do know that I consider you a friend, don't you? Such a good friend, as well. You've been so nice to me. If there's anything that I can do to help you as well, then I'd be ever so happy to do so. I just want you to know that."

//What next? If you haven't already (shame on you!), please read the RULES.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, it is your responsibility to read the GUIDE/FAQ and understand it. In there you will find a slew of information regarding DF's general atmosphere, as well as important details you won't find anywhere else but there.
[NOTE on the Guide/FAQ; This section is still a work in progress, though as of right now it is pretty much complete. If something hasn't been addressed or answered within, do feel free to ask your question via a comment to that post.]
After that, please follow these steps:
1.) Make your character's journal if you don't already have one.
2.) Proceed to the TAKEN CHARACTERS list and follow the instructions there.
3.) After you've done that, go on over to the HOUSING UNITS post and follow the directions listed there.
4.) Join the following communities: dystopian_flux (main community), dystopian_logs (logs community), and s1_s_anonymous (OOC community). There's also a crack community called dfasscrack, joining is totally optional.
5.) Following the directions at the PLAYER TABLE to add yourself to the list.
6.) If you are interested in your muse having a job, stop in at the Jobs Listing
7.) Be aware of Dystopian Flux's Profile. Every link you need is listed there.
8.) Please go here to see what happens when your character first arrives in Veles.
