3 Women

This morning I finished watching Robert Altman's '3 Women.' What a completely bizarre movie -- strangest thing I've seen in ages!

Shelley Duvall and Sissy Spacek are both so compelling to watch -- it was almost an overload having the two of them on the same screen. Millie Lammoreaux (Duvall) works at a retirement home, where she meets Pinky Rose (Spacek), who becomes secretly obsessed and begins stealing her identity. Before long, Pinky moves into Millie's apartment in a depressing, faux-swanky singles' complex.

I'll skip the spoilers in case anyone wants to watch it. But beware, for it will warp your brains when they start swapping personalities.

I will say that this is one of those movies worth watching for the color scheme alone, all mid-70s yellow, purple, pink, and blue. Completely garish but so gorgeous like candy.

Also, Millie wears those great, flouncy skirts like the gals in '9 to 5.' Every time she closes the door of her Ford Pinto, she catches her skirt in the frame, leaving a dramatic skirt ruffle flapping in the wind. Just goes to show that she's only human, I guess.
