Dallas falls through but NxStage looks to be good
Contrary to initial reports there is no nocturnal home program in Dallas so my plan to use them for monitoring me here in New Mexico won't work. I am now investigating programs in the Houston area. Mesa, AZ is another possibility. Another hopeful development is the recent release of the NxStage System One. This beauty is a simplified and modularized unit that you can even take traveling with you. While at home it works with a companion water filtration unit. All the parts are designed for home use so you don't need special electrical or plumbing modifications to use it. On the road you use prepackaged dialysate pouches so you don't need to take the larger filtration unit with you. They even make a metal travel case for packing to check on a plane. The one thing that I haven't determined is if there is provision for remote monitoring.
In other news jmattax, skitzycat, and possibly alphamajor are now joined by houdini_cs as part of the team I am putting together to meet the requirements for trained assistance. I meet with the home program people next Tuesday.
