Back on the road in the land of the Rising Sun
Well, after a month at home, it was back on a plane back to Asia. First stop Tokyo, Japan. I arrived in town late afternoon on Saturday and after getting my rail pass, renting a phone (Japan has their own technology so this is on of only 2 or 3 places in the world where my phone won't work) it was off to Tokyo from the airport. The ride was smooth and convenient, but from there, things got more challenging. A friend of mine had arranged some accomodation for me and sent some directions, and they looked simple. Well, unfortunately the exit that the directions stated, didn't exist (ok, supposedly if I could read Japanese it did...) so I couldn't find my way to the hotel. Anyway, after asking a half dozen people none of them had any idea where it was, but finally I found someone who tried to help. Then that didn't help too much...still couldn't find the place... anyway to make a long story short, after over an hour or so of looking, calling the hotel (and getting more bad directions) I finally found the place.
