House Find
Today we made an awesome find/impulse* purchase at Construction Junction. This GORGEOUS antique (circa 1910) gas fireplace insert has beautiful Art Nouveau/Deco ornamentation. It needs a little bit of work, including being stripped and repainted - the color is actually great for our room, but that's the original paint and it's showing plenty of wear. (We might just repaint in the original color, or we might go to a faux-finish or a two-tone paint job to really bring out the detail. Many options, all good ones.) It's going to look amazing in our living room when we're done!
*We actually saw it, went home and thought about it for several hours, and then went back to buy it. So it was only about 85% impulse purchase. ^_^
Yes, this also means it's time to make decisions on the rest of the fireplace/surround/hearth renovations.
