Boston and environs
Next week I get to accompany my hubby to the American Library Association conference in Boston, under the guise of being his Seeing-Eye Wife. Coincidentally, that happens to be where many of my seventeenth century ancestors fiddled around with the idea of creating an anti-monarchy.
I'll have enough free time to wander up and down Mass and RI tracking down gravesites, old homesteads, the statue of my ancestral aunt Anne Hutchinson, Look out of the Bay where they landed in 1634, Visit the places they were imprisoned and tried. feel the ground where they were killed by Indians (with good reason, I presume), et al...
I'm not nearly ready, but I am very much excited!
We'll also take a side trip up to Salem, (how can you not?) to pay homage to the ones who died in the hysteria...
