the most exciting thing i did today, besides graduating college (after
6 long long long years and two seperate insitutions), along with dear
sweet atom moore was try and convince the graduating class of 2005 that
the guest speaker was bob vila. i thought bob vila's insightful
metaphor of how fixing an old house is like fixing your life would have
left the graduates with a feeling of inspiration, one that would carry
them through the years and whenever anyone spoke of the greatest moment
in their lives, well, they'd say, just listening to bob vila talk that
lovely day in may, 2005. why his comparison of a hammering nails
to getting married, pure genius. anyway, it probably would have
kept me from having to listen to jon marzilli and bryan maddern talk
over me.
