Dublin...again

After a lazy morning I headed into the city to see a few more things. You'll be relieved to know that Tie-fighter squadrons of 5 have been outlawed in the city center:

First I headed over to the modern art museum. Which I actually wasn't too impressed with. Especially compared to the modern exhibit that I saw last night, which seemed fresh and expressive. Many of these seemed forced and in my opinion even unartistic-of course I think I'm most critical of modern art over the other genres. One that did catch my eye was a slow movie of a girl laying prone, and black liquid slowly seeping from under her, down the sheets to slowly drip on the floor:

Then I went to Kilmainham Jail, which I found really interesting because of my Irish Revolution and Independence class. This is the picture of the stairs in the main hall of the jail. This is the flight that Michael Collins walks down in the self-titled movie even though he was never actually held here.

This Jail was also interesting because it was one of the jails that started implementing Victorian theories on prisons, and was innovative in requiring less guards to be on duty at a time. I highly recommend this stop if you ever have the time.

Then I wandered into the city center because I wasn't quite ready to head home yet...This is a picture of the square on O'Connell. A book I read said that locals call the spire the Stilletto in the Ghetto...but I've never actually heard anyone say that phrase.

Tomorrow I leave for Prague-I'm sure that I won't sleep much as it is an early flight (eww) and I never seem to sleep well the night before a flight-must be the five year old in me.
