Life goes on

Things continue apace. I'm part of the Communications Forum at work, and at present this means I have responsibilities relating to a collective redundancy program at work.

Basically any questions people have, they come to me and if I dont already have the answer for them, I am supposed to find out and let them know. We're losing up to 4 people from our office, and it sucks. But there you go. I am of course grateful that I am not one of those at risk, but still I wish there was more I could do.

I saw Megan again briefly last weekend. I just popped in to drop off her laptop which I had fixed. She immediately seized the laptop and opened it, turning it on without even plugging the power supply in.

She then realised I had put Windows 7 on it and then noticed it did not have Windows Movie Maker installed, and was not happy about that. I said that I'd sort it out and would find a solution for her.

With this she immediately went into Paint and started drawing a cartoon character, and considering that she only had a mousepad to work with was actually bloody good. After some brief talk I left. I was in no doubt that she was grateful, but it's interesting to see how she expresses herself in such matters. There is much road ahead of us and I can't wait to take that journey.

I did manage to locate not only the windows 7 and windows live version of movie maker, but also the files for the fuller Vista version she is used to over the weekend, but she has apparently already downloaded the windows 7 version and was already nicely adjusted to it.

Her birthday is just 11 days of yet, and as her main present is going to be late due to availability, I have no idea what to get her as a hold-over present. I must get my thinking cap on.
