Real Quick Update
Not the newsletter again (yet), but a quick update from our court date on Monday.
Attendees: glowfaeriejosie, gerards_elli, myself, and the ex.
My wife stayed in the back while gerards_elli sat next to me. Her mother was at the opposite bench.
The judge asked her to summarize the past few months. There were some clear inaccuracies, but the judge kept an eye on our side of the room while she was talking and took note of our head shakes and eye rolls when said inaccuracies came up. He then asked me how things went, and I simply said that her statement had been more or less correct aside from a few bumps in the road. He then said that there will always be bumps in the road, but that it sounded like everything was fine.
After a few mundane questions, he simply sustained my motion to modify custody. At that point, the ex asked if she could say something, which he of course allowed.
She went on, crying from the start, about how she had given birth at the age of 15 and how she had done this and that while I had not (so many lies in there I can't even begin to reiterate). When she was clearly not telling the truth, gerards_elli and I went with our head shakes and eye rolls to let the judge know that she was once again not telling the truth. She closed by trying to lead into a change in the custody arrangement that might allow her more parenting time. A few days before the court date she wanted to discuss a 50/50 parenting schedule, once week with me and one week with her.
She didn't mentioned the proposed plan, and the judge just made some comment about us handling that between ourselves and that was that. Aside from her request for another review in three months, everything looks pretty good now.
