matthew nastasi, i (and all of us) will love you, miss you, and remember you forever.

you are amazing.

wreak havock forever wherever you end up, and may you rest in peace.

"life as usual" (as chad mentioned in his deadjournal) will never be the same, even for those of us who only knew you for a couple years.
9/21/1985 - 6/25/2004

that's in my AIM profile (again)...
it's really very difficult for me to congeal all these wonderful memories into specific descriptions of each moment, although i wish i could for the sake of all the people that read this, and the people i talk to, so we can remember everything together. i do remember...staring up at the stars with jason, neil, him and ellen at a conservation land in the middle of the night...blowing up cans of soda in a backyard campfire...resnyak cousins hitting us with phallic graduation balloons... "hey matt...would you be willing to answer the door naked?"...damn hippy...trying to figure out the rumored accompaniment of pink floyd's dark side of the moon with the wizard of oz...goofing around at a playground after watching fireworks on top of ryan's van smoochy...speeding in hellmo and rocking to dimmu...throwing snowballs at each other to and from neil's window and the yard below...building a giant snowpile to slide onto in a sleeping bag off of the terry's roof...watching neil and him jump off walls into snowbanks and pavement...watching endless hours of destructonation and clips of other stunts...watching angus, followed by the uncensored version of dead alive.....and so much more.

i will be making a mix to be copied and distributed to all who wish to have it. so far, it may include weezer, pink floyd, nofx, anti-flag, cradle of filth, dimmu borgir, HIM, CKY, honkeyball, slayer and others. although i am very familiar with most of these bands, i am very unfamiliar with any other of nastasi's favorite bands and his favorite songs of the aforementioned groups, especially those before i knew him. please, comment or IM me and make suggestions so that this mix can be as comprehensive as possible. thank you.

as much as i want to remember him with physical evidence; music and destructonation and evil dead; i know that the memories in the mind, the memories shared among friends, are the important things. we'll never forget them, and they'll never fade.
every one of his indescribable good and bad qualities create the character that was and always will be matthew nastasi. perhaps i'll be able to articulate those qualities, at least those that i knew him for. he was the "nicest asshole i've ever met" and i adored that quality.

*edit* at the suggestion of jordan: weezer - say it ain't so/suzanne/buddy holly/undone (the sweater song), HIM - right here in your arms, CKY - 96 quite bitter beings, dimmu borgir - progenies of the great apocalypse/kings of the carnival creation, slayer - angel of death/raining blood, honkeyball - bruce lee
please continue the suggestions!
