Before I die . . .

Everyone has different concepts about what they want to do before they die, from sky diving to owning their own business. I found a website http://beforeidieiwantto.org that completely blew my mind and it made me more open to the differences in our cultures, in the western side of the world where we are located, it’s all about material or extremities, there are some interesting ones like before I die I want to party a the playboy mansion and have a sleep over, or sky dive, ect. Most of what I read was frivolous and without soul. Some that I read were heart wrenching, especially in the hospice section, wanting to live enough to see their great grand children or even get enough energy to write to them. Then I look at India and see what they have written, mostly is kids wanting to be something more or adults wanting happiness for their community. It boggles my mind how empty we have become, how self absorbed we are with our own little egotistical needs. Nevertheless, it’s society’s point of view, who is right and who is wrong? Which attitude is the appropriate one to have? Or even consider?
“Before I die . . .” has so many meaning to people, the haves and the have not’s, but there’s a different levels of having that I have seen. For example, someone that is fulfill spiritually and emotionally will have a different want than someone that’s only fixation is to have whatever’s obtainable or farfetched. Someone that isn’t used to materialism will want communicate their wishes and well-being to their loved ones and community, for example “I want everyone to have love and happiness in the world”, “I want to study”, or “I want my family to have an education and be happy”. Its funny how we the civilized first world country could ever consider them third-world.
Then I take this statement into my own accounts and think about what it really means to me.
“Before I die . . .” I want to make a difference in the world, I want to experience what a good and fulfilling life and leave a legacy to my children and family about what it is to make your dreams come true. And when I take my last breath, I will be with the love of my life, in her arms and know what bliss it was to share my life with her and she can be happy because we had a love that broke through all life’s hardships. And world peace :)
