This journal has long been neglected, so I'm going to attempt to give it a little love. We'll see what happens. We all know that when I decide to do something, it doesn't usually last long (except book reviews. I've been doing those since 2006!).

As far as progress reports go, I really, really like how cmpriest does it. See? Of course, she's a published author, and I'm not, but we'll see how this format works. Also, an additional perk of this format is that it allows me to talk about real life too!

Project: Black Ghost (space opera)
New Words: 1154 words
Present Total Word Count: 1154 words
Goal: 100,000 words (this may change as the project takes shape)

Things Accomplished in Real Life: Greg and I are going on vacation! Got our reservations for an excellent rate, and we're planning all the stuff we want to do while we're away. Nothing fancy, mind you. We're still going to be in our own back yard, but still! VACATION! For the first time in, like, EVER!

Things Accomplished in Fiction: actually started this draft. Technically, I've been piddling around with random scenes before, but I've come upon a unifying element in female archetypes that I want to use to mold the draft, and since I have a deadline this Sunday, it's high time to commit something to paper, even if it does suck.

Reason for Stopping: It's getting late, and I have to work in the morning. That, and I reached a point where I needed to think about how heroine #3 is going to react to something, which means I get to sleep on it.
