This is an interesting comparison, because the basic premise of the art is pretty much the same. However, they're different enough I'm curious what people's reaction will be to the different covers. :)

You know the drill: if you were browsing in the bookstore and you came across this book, face out so you could see the cover, and you knew NOTHING of the author or the series, which cover, if either, would interest you enough to pick up the book and read the blurb/first few pages?

If you choose "neither," I'd love to know what it is about these covers that just don't appeal to you. It may be something as simple as genre, but if you make that selection, feel free to comment.

Same goes if you like both covers equally. What is it about those two covers that appeals to you but won't let you pick one or the other? Again, feel free to comment. :)

Trade art, definitely. I like the coloring, and the image itself makes me want to stare at it for a while to soak up the details. In actuality though, I own the hardcover, because it's a signed, limited edition and I'm not giving that up for anything. It's also a really good book about a nun who fights werewolves. :) You'd never guess that from the hardcover art, though it's an image from INSIDE the book (the book is illustrated), and I've got respect for that, though the art alone isn't enough to make me take a look. The author's name, however, is.

And that's me!

Don't forget: one of these days, I'm going to run out of examples. Not because they aren't OUT there, but because I'll have either forgotten about them or won't know they exist. So if you have covers you'd like me to highlight in this series, please comment with the author's name, the title of the book, and whether or not it's a part of a series. :) I've got a list, and I'd love to add to it. :) However, I would PREFER to keep the covers in the SF/F/H realm of both adult and YA, but I'll be honest, I don't have too, especially if the cover differences are worth noting. Thanks!
