pt. 3?

Well, had my get together with my old friends last night. Not as big of a turnout that we were expecting, but as they say...quality is better than quality. The best part of the night is the fact that in all of the ways I've devised to reconnects with any of them, I never included recent pictures. The point is back then, I had very short hair. For those who don't know, I've got long, black hair that I usually keep pulled back.
In an age (and a group) where most of the guys that returned had a little bald cirle at the top of their heads (if they were lucky! :p) I showed up with about 3 times the amount I had back then. I got more than one ~from behind my back as I'm talking to someone else~ "Jason..?? Hair!!??" Guess I'm also one of those that hasn't changed outwardly that much over time, since I had no one ask who I was. There were a few that I had to scrap the back recesses of my skull to pull the name out of the hat and match it with a small picture from a "memorized" yearbook picture, although I guess they all kinda look the same given the era. Then having to match it with the face in front of me and how I knew them was a bigger challenge.
Besides the ones that I knew wouldn't be there because of location, I saw quite a few that were in school as the same time as me..in fact, having to find a way to manage time spent with a "little sister" who also knew me from an overlapping year at college, as opposed to a "big sister" who hasn't seen me since school was really hard. Luckily Debbie, oh sorry..Deborah...at least in the "real world" had to leave a little before everyone else did, so I got to spend time with the crowd that knew me as "big brother" for the last hour or so. We'll see how well the promises of keeping in touch, on both sides, keep together. They've all talked about once every few months going bowling or something just to keep things a little close, and keeping the big get together to the same time next year thing. I'm not much in the place where I really want to go to a 20 yr reunion...all my friends are spaced between four years or so and most came from the same group, although there are a few that I'm trying to "vote in" under unofficial status because they were always around us and one music hall away. SO we'll see.
It was just amazing to be with people that I haven't seen in 20 years, at a football game where none of us really cared what was going on (they're losing this year anyway..Now THAT'S weird. It didn't feel like much time had passed at all.
In the real world..Key took me out to a wonderful birthday dinner at a mongolian type place where you put it together yourself, and then we went to see the new version of Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D. It was really fun...thanks again! Key calls....have a great day, all!
