By now most of you have became at least vaguely familiar with "pete's garage", the bar and grill establishment in which night of 1000 chicken wings was conducted. However a new restaurant/bar has popped up called "Mugsy's" who also has twenty-five cent wing night. So on Tuesday we decided to eat there and watch the pistons game. Now I'm not one for spicy food...at all. However when I saw this on the menu;
"Dead Pirate Wings...anybody who can eat 12 of these gets a free desert"
I was needless to say intrigued. I pointed it out to Chas and he saw it as a challenge. He ordered 15 of these wings in addition to our wings and ate one, then proceeded to have tears rolling down his face. Now we're talking about the same man who downed 51 hot wings at pete's...now reduced to one!? Unthinkable. So we all tried one...and about died. They were by far the hottest chicken wings that I had ever tasted. I ate half of one and needed an hour to feel my lips again. But then Charles ate two more...making the kill count three. I told him he needed to go for it and he said if I drove Alex home he would. By the time I returned he had gotten down seven more in a marathon of pain. It took him 2 and a half hours but he eventually ate all twelve, and then enjoyed the ice cream that came afterwards. It was 10:30 before we left and I didn't have the will to carry on with the night any longer (I had consumed 25 BBQ wings myself), so I retired and watched the second half of the game in bed, and drifted off sometime afterwards.
My alarm sounded at nine the next morning signaling that it was time to get up and get ready for Ann Arbor. Cutting short my first real ability to sleep in after nine this summer, I spent an eternity searching for a razor to shave (I was looking pretty rough) and then took off. I got to Kaz's house twenty minutes late but all was well, we had plenty of time. After wandering around aimlessly we decided to get a map...and then call Mark to find out where Mongolian BBQ was (I always went to the one in Taylor). But eventually we found it and holy fucking christ...It was like 10x better than the one I usually frequent. New York Strip...it had mother fucking chopped up New York Strip steak...need I say more? Afterwards of course came a stop at Wizzywigs, the resident Japanese stuff store. I bought some pocky (POCKY IS GOD), and persuaded Lemmy to do the same...his box was consumed by the time we got back. And of course no Ann Arbor run would be complete without stopping by PinBall Pete's or making towers of ice cream at Ben and Jerry's. Needless to say I spent $30 and have absolutely nothing to show for it but memories. But I suppose it's well worth it.
With Thursday came an ass beating to remember from Detroit to San Antonio (102-71) which evened up the series at two a piece. Today was spent cleaning the house for my little family graduation gathering tommorrow. Should be enjoyable. The only problem of course is that I have four different graduation parties to attend and I won't be able to make a damned one of them. Well if time permits I may be able to swing by Justin's and then Corey's but the other two are much too far away. Oh well. Take care everyone.
