Has just a little less hold on me now. As of 2006JAN23 I am no longer tied to the US military...except through memories. That's right, 8 years ago I signed a contract with the government and agreed to serve 3 years of active duty in the navy. Upon completion of said term I entered into the inactive reserves. Which is similar to the reserves...except I don't do shit...ever. I was still eligible for recall but I was at the bottom of the list...and the list was very long after 9/11.
It's really not big news. Most of the people that know me didn't even realize I was still "tied" to the government in anyway. The navy better stop sending me mail requesting updates on my schooling and job status, too. Because I hate those things.
Other news...I tried
Dungeons & Dragons: Online recently and though it is a very complicated game, its still pretty fun. Plus the graphics are pretty amazing. Warcraft is still my favorite though.
Still waiting on the PC to get here. I'm sorta worried that games wont play on it since it uses Windows XP Pro 64bit Edition. But the ones that do will look great. I'm really interested in seeing how well two video cards perform. Plus it's a "faster" cpu. It's dual core, like two CPUs in one. So whatever.
OK, movie reviews. There are a couple of spoilers in here:
Four Brothers: A movie about 4 adopted brothers that get revenge on the guys that killed their adopted mother. Decent action and humor. Mark Wahlberg definitely isn't the greatest actor in the world but I've always gotten some entertainment from his movies. This one is no exception. It's no award winner but it's a good movie to pass the time with. 6 of 10
The Cave: Explorers trek through an enormous cave system. Thrills ensue. About the only thing I liked about this movie was the environment...and even that was lame. Some of the cave scenes were pretty cool looking while others **SPOILER** like the icy cave directly next to the fiery cave where ri-goddamn-diculous. I'd also like to have anal sex with Piper Perabo but it would be very rough and I wouldn't call her afterwards. 3 of 10
Lord Of War: This movie I really enjoyed. And I have grown quite tired of Nicolas Cage. Nick Cage is a guy that becomes an arms dealer. Sounds pretty lame but trust me, the way the story is told, partially narrated, and filmed made it very interesting. Nick's usual way of acting really fit the role in this movie. Also, I found his wife in the film to be very attractive. I would do the same to her as I would to Piper Perabo only...I'd call her again. 9 of 10
Red Eye: A chick is forced to help a hit man type guy or her pops gets it. Rachel McAdams is almost too cute to be sexy.....almost. Again, I'd like to do things to that would make God cry. Aside from that the movie was extremely shallow and very short clocking in at 85mins. Personally I think it was a weak concept for a movie. Wes Craven directed it so I guess I can't expect much. It wasn't scary or suspenseful. **SPOILER** Oh, and getting stabbed in the windpipe with a pen sounds like a very painful thing...painful and bloody. Neither of which happened. The villain had no blood loss, and only slight pain...like a scraped knee. Plus he was able to talk if he covered the apparently gaping wound with his finger. I say apparently because he COVERED IT WITH A SATIN-ISH SCARF. Who knew satin could absorb so much blood that it doesn’t even show on the fabric? 3 of 10
