I've said it before and I will try not to say it again. People are strange creatures. This, of course, includes myself...before anyone tries to give me shit about that. I do make a valiant effort to understand people. They just do ignorant things...and why? Because they don't know any better? I don't think so. Refusing to do something they know for fact is the right thing...it just doesn't make sense. You can put everything they could ever ask for in their hands and they will still, purposfully, fuck it up. Why is it so had to do what you know is right? "Sometimes doing the right thing is the hardest of all"...Ok, that's true Mr. Cliche. BUT, there are way more instances where doing the right thing is just easier. Still met with resistance. I will never get it and knowing me, I'll never stop trying to figure it out.
That aside, obviously people can dip down into an even baser form of ignorance. I don't think I'm very intelligent. On the other hand I don't butcher the English language like a palsy victim with a hacksaw. I never paid much attention in school and my friend's and I all cheated on just about everything. DESPITE ALL OF THIS...I can still fucking form a complete sentence. I can understand the use of chat acronyms...to an extent. BRB, WB, HB, U, R, UR, WTF, LOL, LMAO, ROFL. Ok, I lied. I can understand SOME and I'm only just tolerant of them. I think the use of "u" instead on "you" or "r" instead of "are" is just extremely stupid. The point of an acronym is to shorten a phrase. THE WORD "YOU" IS THREE FUCKING LETTERS. I mean, does it REALLY need to be shortened for ease of use? "Well, you are stupid if you can't figure out what it stands for." Not the point...my point is that it isn't any more difficult to hit Y before U and O after.
I realize that is all in regards to chat...still, there is a human being sitting at the other end typing. I suppose it's just another thing I won't understand. Or, people are just stupid, plain and simple.
