A new year! A new decade!
And, as you can tell, I couldn’t be more excited! In addition to all the new online projects I have going - which are really going to kick into gear this year - it looks like some of my home improvement wishes and goals will finally become a reality as well. Due to necessity, of course, but still…they are getting done at last!
So did everyone have a good holiday/New Year? It seems like I have been going nonstop with work and trying to purge the house of unneeded clutter, and Oh! Em! Gee! THE CARPETS!!! Trying to clean the nasty carpet is always a losing battle, but I am still trying…this time so the Lowe’s delivery people won’t think we live in squalor. I will be soooo glad when I am able to rip this crap up, and put the crappy vinyl floor down. But hey - crappy or not, vinyl can be CLEANED! And does not hold on to every odor that was ever in the house. And does not hold onto dust and dirt, which is a definite plus with my asthma and allergies. I can’t wait, I tell you!
So. Resolutions. I didn’t exactly make any. I’ll still be Hungry Girl-ing (and YAY! I no longer feel the obsessive need to find the best weight loss supplement on the market!); Fly-ing; working as much as possible, and I’d like to take up running again. Ideally, I’d like to take and work with more photos, and just get more creative and productive in general. I’m definitely going to spend more time with my amazing friends, many of whom also have exciting plans and changes in store for themselves this year. Happiness! Of course, I have lots of travel and music plans for the year as well
Not exactly resolutions, but good goals to have.
Right now I am busily working on a new look for the site, which has added to my insane gotta-get-it-done housecleaning. It’s NOT going as I had planned. On the blog front, I need to wipe my Google reader out and just start over with a clean slate. For more manageability. (REAL QUICK! Please suggest, if you know of any of these: a personal blog, a “home” (renovation/style/decor) blog, a writing blog, and a design/web/tools blog for me to read. Vintage and housewares blogs would be nice, too! Thanks!)
And I am off to get my sons later today. (They were supposed to come home yesterday, but the dryer vent/ductneeded to be replaced due to blockage. This required a trip to Lowe’s and working under the house, and I wasn’t sure how long it would take. It’s always something!) I opted to just surprise the boys and let them stay an extra night. This isn’t going to give us much time to visit and get caught up before school starts back tomorrow, but I have missed them and can’t wait to have them back home!
