Reading has pretty much consumed my life
When I’m not working, taking care of my pets and plants, and trying to keep up with derby and my favorite blogs and forums (well, that is a form of reading, but not what I was referring to with the title of this post), that is!
First off: My favorite fanfic authors? They need to hurry up and update!
Don’t get me wrong, I know people have lives they have to tend to outside of their writing and internet participation. Still, it doesn’t stop me from getting withdrawals and being impatient about it all!
That is why I prefer actually reading stories that are already completed. I know the writers like reviews and such, but I just do NOT have the patience to wait for days - sometimes even weeks - for new chapters. It’s one thing if they’re only far enough apart to leave me wanting more. But some take so long to update that I just lose interest. And these were the fanfics that were recommended to me by numerous people! So I have decided at this point that if I come across any interesting ones, I am waiting until they are finished before I begin reading.
I am finally getting really into the Southern Vampire Mysteries books again, and not a moment too soon! I am finishing up Living Dead in Dallas, and the True Blood season 2 premiere is in two or so weeks, I think. Yay!
I am really excited about reading Club Dead. I have had the hardest time understanding why everyone who has read the books is so anti-Bill, when I absolutely adore True Blood Bill! But everyone pretty much says the same thing: Book Bill just isn’t the same. I have noticed this to some extent just in the two that I’ve read thus far. One friend specifically told me to finish book 2, get into book 3, and get ready to jump over to Team Eric, hah. That’s not really going to be a problem.
