No one likes long entries

but here is one anyway. Did everyone have a good Mother’s Day? I hope so; I sure did.

This weekend was pretty busy. Quiet, but still busy. Our Friday evening trips have been pushed back this past week and the next time having us leave at 6:30-7pm (football practice) instead of 4:45. Which means it’s nearly 11pm when I make it back home.

Saturday morning I met Tiffani for coffee, and got to meet her beautiful little girl. You all should see the gorgeous, copper colored curls this child has! I’m so jealous. We gabbed and shopped for a bit before going our separate ways. I had a great time, and hope to be able to keep doing things like this. Now that I’ve met a group of girls I actually like around here, I definitely want to keep it going.

I had to return a shirt while there, and found a cute Captain Jack Sparrow oversize fitted soft tee, which I plan on customizing a bit. Perhaps even turning it into a cute swim coverup. Then I went into Michael’s and got some iron on transfers, a few accent patches, and some tools to make customizing a bit easier. I think I’m going back for a bedazzler this week

From there, I had to head to the mall to return an expensive Abercrombie shirt my mom bought for my youngest son. He asked for band tees instead. He wanted Ramones and Led Zeppelin, so I headed to Spencer’s after leaving Abercrombie. I found a Zep tee which was very nice, but……after getting it home, I realized he might not be able to wear it to school since it has an outline of a naked angel on it. I am returning it today and getting him a different one. While I was there, I picked up another Dirtbag girl tee and Dickies Girl tee for $4.97 each. They had a Ramones hoodie for $9.97 which I passed on and have regretted ever since. So if it’s still there when I go back, I may still snag it. And I picked the kiddo up a Ramones wallet, which has the coolest leather pattern, and is lined with plaid. It had been marked from $24.97 to $6.97. And it came in the coolest tin box, which he then gave me for Mother’s Day. Yay! I love tins!

Then I went into Hot Topic and found him a classic Ramones tee. The boy at the checkout asked me if I was a fan or something else…I really couldn’t make out the rest, but judging from the rest of our conversation, I assume it was something along the lines of if I just liked the look of the tee or something. I told him I was a HUGE fan, but that the shirt was actually for my son, since he’s starting to get into a lot of my favorite bands now. We started talking about the differences between British and American punk, the closing of CBGB, and the terrible state of ‘punk’ music these days. (I may try to elaborate on this one a bit more at some point. He pointed out a CBGB shirt that I decided I wanted next time I came in there, and said it was wonderful talking with someone who was a true fan. I agree. It is hard for me to actually find people I have things in common with, to hold conversations, no matter how short, with. So. I got all the way to the mall exit when I decided to run back and grab the CBGB shirt after all.

I had to turn in some fundraising stuff for my son’s baseball team, so I did that…then just spent the rest of the afternoon chilling and reading. I thought about doing yardwork, but then fell asleep.

Sunday we went to eat with my husband’s family, and of course, I couldn’t find the place so we were late getting there. I wanted my husband to snap a phone pic of himself and send a pix message saying ‘Driver r lost. Directions pls kthx.’ (see here if that makes no sense at all.) But he wouldn’t do it. We weren’t there very long at all.

I did get some awesome things for Mother’s Day, though. I got myself the Dirtbag, Dickies, and Captain Jack tees, my husband told me to get myself the CBGB one from him, and the boys got me:

~a card with a black and white photo of a baby’s face, and the baby is throwing the horns. It’s also wearing a bandana, and the card says “Yo Yo Yo. It’s Mother’s Day. You down wit’ that?’ and on the inside it says ‘Happy Mother’s Day. Peace out. XOXO’ I thought it was cute!

~the Ramones tin I mentioned up there ^^ somewhere.

I’ll get a pic of it all later, I think. I need to take new pictures in the tees anyway, and add them to my tees flickr set, which is sorely lacking these days.

Well, that catches up the weekend’s events, anyway.
