Vacation All I Ever Wanted

Last week I was on vacation, during the worst of that heat wave that's covered most of the U.S. and saw high temperatures in the triple digits multiple days in a row, so that was fun. I did ride my horse in the mornings around 8am, when it was only, you know, 92 or 95 degrees or whatever. Mostly I saw a lot of movies. Avengers (which I have now ( Read more... )

Oh, yeah, been there -- August 1999 when I went to London and the Brits were apologizing for the heatwave (it being in the 80s) and I was wearing a sweater because it had been in the 100s back in Dallas. And I've also been there on trying to get the phone to load a webpage when I'm in the middle of the nowhere and it's the only internet connection I've got -- congrats on getting it to load!

Yeah, it's all relative, isn't it? Like when I moved to California and everyone was wearing jackets and jeans when it was 60 and I was like, back home we bust out the shorts 10 degrees ago!

How did I ever live without a smartphone? IDEK.

Eagle River! It's supposed to be a craft fair so it's a bunch of tents with crappy stuff in them, like dreamcatchers and ugly wooden furniture, but they give away free watermelon all day. There are also some other food booths now (fried cheese curds of course) and the last two years they had live music, which I kind of hated. Last year there was a bouncy castle and this year there was a rock wall. You pay to park, that's it. I think it's four bucks?
