Vacation All I Ever Wanted
Last week I was on vacation, during the worst of that heat wave that's covered most of the U.S. and saw high temperatures in the triple digits multiple days in a row, so that was fun. I did ride my horse in the mornings around 8am, when it was only, you know, 92 or 95 degrees or whatever. Mostly I saw a lot of movies. Avengers (which I have now seen, uh, ten times), Amazing Spider-Man (twice), Brave (so good!), and Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, which you can feel free to skip, though I did enjoy the parts with Howard Stark (the Captain America version) as a vampire hunter recruiter. Then for the last few days I drove up to northern Wisconsin to visit my dad and my grandparents, which I was really looking forward to because it was only in the high 80s up there, which felt positively chilly after weeks of living in Satan's asscrack. Everyone else up there: "OH GOD IT'S SO HOT." Me: "IT'S ONLY 85 WHERE IS MY SWEATER."
On Saturday while I was at the little local watermelon festival (all the free watermelon you can eat!) I got a text message from
chicklet_girl saying "Have you seen the amazing new fanart for Semaphore?" and I was like OMG NOOOO NOT TODAY because even when I've got five solid bars Tumblr will barely load on my phone, and when I'm up in the wilderness with maybe half a bar (if I'm lucky) most of the time the images won't load at all.
So I sat there at that picnic table with my family, clutching my phone in my sweaty hand, willing Tumblr to just please load please load please load so I could see it, and it took forever and ever, but you guys, it was so worth it, because it's gorgeous.
