the oldest was so nice to start a load of laundry while monkey and i were in the shower. i got to my room, next to the laundry room, to discover the dryer had wet clothes in it and was not turned on. The washer had a single pair of jeans in there. I called for the child to inform him of what I expected him to do with the laundry he'd started. It didnt look like he was doing much of anything. I didn't even get my first sentence out of my mouth when he ran off with his mouth interrupting and yelling at me. Since he refused to let me finish, I took his lone pair of jeans from the washer. Mostly to get his attention since he was still running off at the mouth. Since he was being rude and disrespectful, he was not allowed to wash the clothes, regardless of his lack of clean laundry. He's been given numerous opportunities and specifically informed of an empty washer available to him. If he has no clean clothes, oh stinking well. That is his responsibility, and he has to live with it. I sent him packing off to bed. He kept trying to get the pants. I told him that he needed to find some other clothes to wear because that pair of pants was not going anywhere. Magically, in about 5 minutes he appeared wearing something apparently clean. Yeah, he didnt put away the clean clothes that he washed last week, and found them stashed where he left them. Uh, yeah, nice apology son. He thought I was mad for him starting the washing machine during the shower. Well yeah, at first. If he'd stopped long enough to let me get my first sentence completed, he would have discovered otherwise. That puddle of conclusion is pretty big, and he fell smack in the middle of it.
