speaking to online friends in chat and the topic of one person's bahai faith came up. seeking enlightenment, i asked for his side of the story. it all started when i mentioned my consumption of beer, and fred's wife said something about him belonging to a faith community that believes in abstinence. fred got on the computer while his wife tended offspring as he often does.
fred: Normally we are asked to follow moderation in all things, including moderation
Amanda: they do have non alcoholic vanilla flavoring. (not as good, but hey)
fred: I know, I've tried it, it'll do in a pinch. Can't figure how to make a good bread without yeast though
Me: its called a tortilla
Amanda: that has always confused me. "moderation in all things including moderation" confuses me as much as the trinity.
fred: Flat bread, pancake, crepe etc.
fred: What's to be confused with the Trinity?
Amanda: trinity being "father-son-holy ghost" seperate yet one.
fred: You have the Giver of the Gift, you have the reciever of the gift, & you have the gift
fred: The gift (Holy Spirit) is as much a part of the giver & the reciever as the sun's rays are to the Sun & a mirror
Amanda: huh. after over 20 yrs i finally understand
fred: You're welcome
Amanda: thank you. now maybe i can explain it to my son
Me: well i wouldve said something sooner but a tot was across my arms
Me: so i was observing and learning
