Pairing: Junsu/Yoochun
Rating: PG13
Summary: Yoochun wears his emotions on his sleeves and Junsu catches him staring again.
Yoochun stares. He doesn’t real mean to, but he is a genius and easily gets lost in his thoughts. He’ll think about the retest has to start soon to how hot it is the room but he doesn’t want to take of his leather jacket. (No one wears leather jackets, it’s my style. Without it, I am not Yoochun!) His mind wanders to yesterday at the library when he found someone’s flashdrive still in the usb port at a random desktop. 10 x 10 x 10 folders, all the files in one of them, a word document with 80,000 pages of ‘Trolololol…’ labeled READ ME. The computer would crash once opened.
That memory makes him happy, especially since he didn’t get caught.
He thinks about Junsu, who is retesting on the same section as him. They share a lot of classes together since they are majoring in the same computer science. They also share a lot of mutual friends from classes and hobbies. He thinks maybe Junsu is just as much of a genius as him, though probably less smart. He didn’t take that fourth year of English like he had. Of course, Junsu had never lived in America and hated their English teacher. Junsu doesn’t show that shy trait of a genius like he does. Never opening his mouth and always observing, though it seems like he blends in only to please the others.
Junsu is someone he relates to. Unlike everyone who hates their teacher for being almost seventy-five and way too good at her job, Yoochun hasn’t said anything against her and Junsu even defends her.
“Kangin, you are the most immature brat I have ever had the unfortunate chance of meeting. How are you still in this class?” He’s said on numerous occasions. Junsu doesn’t hate people without a reason.
The conversation Junsu has with one of their non-mutual friends is usually easy to hear in the almost empty halls before said class. “I will make my son take responsibility for any girl he has knocked up. My daughter, I won’t just abandon her for one mistake. I’ll send my grandchildren to Brazil for soccer education.” Junsu and Eunhyuk often talk about sex and the abortionist movement going in their school since Eunhyuk almost became a father the year before. As awkward as he is, Yoochun is sort of proud for him when Junsu declares he is still happily a virgin and won’t have little feet running around his dorm any time soon. Unless he gets a puppy. Or a kitten.
As much as Junsu, and Yoochun for that matter, think Eunhyuk has lived a really fucked life, he still supports him. Not without scolding and intelligence questioning. “What advantage is there to skipping class? Really, what?”
Junsu is so for justice that their seventy-five year old teacher loves him even though she doesn’t hear nearly half the shit Kangin says about her or any of the defending Junsu rebuts with. She just likes him. It is a shock to him when the old woman moves him to the front of the room for the retest. To the right is an idiot. Behind is an idiot. To the left is an idiot. Junsu curls into himself, worried that even looking at them will kill off his brain cells.
He’s never kept it inside, Junsu hates stupid and ignorant people. He’s made it clear that he respects Yoochun and even voiced some jealousy.
Just three rows back and one column to the right, Junsu catches Yoochun’s grin and mouths a ‘what?’ Yoochun doesn’t know he is smiling his face off, clear eyes fixed on Junsu with utmost amusement. He doesn’t realize he has spent an entire minute staring at Junsu. He doesn’t understand how confused he makes Junsu every time he takes the long way to his desk, passing by Junsu who sits at the back of the room. He doesn’t get how flustered he makes Junsu every time he even bothers to talk to him
Junsu looks up to him, Junsu respects him, Junsu values him.
He also thinks Yoochun is a creep for always staring at him at the oddest of times. Sometimes in their computer class, sometimes in this class, sometimes in the hall. He’ll say, “Hey” and Junsu jumps out of his skin. He doesn’t understand Yoochun because he is a genius just like Su.
Jaejoong is easy to understand. His mom loves fashion, he loves fashion. His mom has a high paying job; he goes shopping for the best clothes. Best in his judgment at least. Jaejoong gets what he wants and doesn’t let people to tell him no and his flawed opinions are right even when Junsu disproves their logic. His bad attitude stays no matter how angry he makes Yunho. Jaejoong is easy to understand
Yunho too. His life revolves around cute girls and his wonderful older girlfriend. Any free time is spent working or dancing, not much else. He supports his family. He studies hard even when the head on his shoulders isn’t really secure. Yunho is so simple and easy to understand; Junsu can’t help but love him, unlike his relationship with Changmin that has been weakening with every passing day.
Changmin sticks to himself. They both know he isn’t as gifted as he pretends to be. To hide that, he never speaks and listens to his music all day long, drinking at least six rootbeers everyday. It’s kind of sad because Junsu left that stage years ago. Changmin is easy to read.
But Yoochun is so similar to him that he can’t make out any action he does. Every smile is puzzling, and every silence is just as bewildering.
One thing he does know, Yoochun is just as shy as he is and smart enough not to say anything stupid. His smile means Yoochun is happy and his words mean he feels friendly for the day.
And Yoochun will always start up a conversation randomly with Junsu.
