SNL and Tina Fay

I was blown away by Tina hosting Saturday Night Live "...for the SECOND time, a record -- well, a personal one." Her inside-joke opening shtick kidded that and other foibles, not least the "record" holders Steve Martin (reduced to a walk-on as her "lawyer") and Alec Baldwin (but using his brother -- her "30 Rock" co-star amusing even in his absence)

She is so damned sharp -- her long stint as head writer were the best thing that ever happened to that anarchic show. Literally the antidote to all the infantile shit typical of SNL -- crap that periodically drives me to swear not to watch it again.

(It's ironic that they teamed her with a big-deal pubescent singer, in SNL's pathetic quest to showcase whoever's hot as "our musical guest." Tina even got some hip comedy mileage out of him...)

Anyhow, she was fabulous -- and, of course, she built deliciously on the past two years making fun of the hapless Sarah Palin. She even proposed creating a new TV network, "all Sarah, all the time!" She scoped out a dozen shows for it, with her and SNL regulars sketching the delectable comic possibilities of each!

I love that woman!!
