Ideology -- the enemy of sexiness!

Dear Gary: Thanks -- indeed, the question is relevant. Writing this post, I found myself coining the "ideological" modifier -- reflecting on recent conversations about HOW I've evolved as a lesbian, in the dozen years that I've blogged about it here. But especially in recent months.

That is, the game's surely about gay intercourse -- but the brain (mine, anyway) isn't content with here-and-now SEX. Nope, it demands details of whom the sex is with, AND how she relates to my checkered history with women. Going back thirty years, there was a complication, a sordid little rape -- shaping my view of men as people whom I found sexually dangerous (and NOT in a good way!).

There's another complication: I'm a relative "purist" -- a girls-only lesbian -- operating in a world of bisexual girls, who bring to bed their OWN histories. I know a few pure lezzies -- surely envying them -- but all the girls I've ever fucked have a guy or two buried back in their psyches someplace.

(Some lezzies actually sneer at bisexual ladies, figuring they're hedging their gender-bets, conniving to retain a heterosexual option. But, "pure" as I might've wanted to be, I somehow always found myself in love with bi girls! Apologies to Katy Perry, "I kissed a bi, and I liked it.")

Sorry, Gary, much as I've tried to avoid sounding academic, this might not make the kind of sense you'd sought... and, worse, I've lost the thread!
