Washington football -- goddess help us!
There are a few Washingtonians among my LJ friends here (albeit I don't know anyone here in RL...).Anyhow, today's WPost has a good column today by Mike Wise, one of their best sports hands. So, everyone else, please indulge me in a little localitis.
"Mike Shanahan and Dan Snyder: Whether coach stays or goes, something has to change
"The Washington Post's Mike Jones says the [pathetic] loss to the Cowboys in their final home game produced the same errors that plagued them throughout the season.
"To be clear, the possibility of Mike Shanahan coming back as coach now resides somewhere between infinitesimal and really, really small. Returning for a fifth season would seem to be the greatest upset of his tenure here, defying every headstrong personality trait ascribed to the head coach, the owner and the franchise quarterback [Robert Griffin III, whom] Shanahan weirdly shut down for the seasonm..." Griffin was none too pleased, perhaps needless to say.
