family christmas card, a photo by

Just awakened, still shaking off sleep -- but wanted to get Christmas Eve started. Happily, I've finished all the Christmas shopping, and Joanne and I have a day to ourselves. Only event is an early midnight mass at her church in Georgetown; she'll be in the choir as usual. One of few religious events I genuinely enjoy!
Oops, not exactly "a day to ourselves" -- we'll be carefully UN-decorating, since we're heading for several months at our Florida place, probably driving down on Friday. But I said "carefully" because our London chum, Heidi, arrives Christmas afternoon -- so we want the main decorations still intact to welcome her. We'll whisk her straight from the airport to a holiday dinner at an old favorite restaurant in the countryside.
I trust all of you wonderful LJ friends will have lovely holidays this week, seeing friends and family, enjoying that special peacefulness that comes after the frantic shopping -- or, if it's your practice, the frantic avoidance of all the excesses. I sincerely hope the whole world enjoys a little peace, whatever religion or ethnicity or country.
Kisses, Justine
