So we just watched the Redskins lose another game, despite a stalwart fourth-quarter push to catch up with the Eagles. Very disappointing, since Coach Shanahan's decision NOT to play RGIII in the pre-season made all the difference in his performance tonight! The highly touted quarterback hadn't played before a massive crowd in over EIGHT freakin' months!! By the time he settled in (the third quarter!!), they were behind by 20 points! They got most of them, but couldn't get the last 6 to tie -- let alone the "point after" to win.
So WTF was that jerk Shanahan doing wasting their last time-out with two and a half minutes to go?
We had a nice evening, though. We'd invited a couple of old pals for dinner and bridge, and we caught the first few minutes of the game, saw the debacle shaping up -- and began to play bridge, letting the game murmur in the background. My partner and I won, even as Griffin strove in vain to remedy his obvious problems.
Did you see it, Music Man (and Red)??
