With no storm, there would be no rainbow.

With no storm, there would be no rainbow., a photo by Daniela Tadé on Flickr.

About ten days ago, I first showed you lovely readers a pair of shots by a young Argentine girl named Daniela Belén Tadé. Which is a fascinating name, incidentally: it is French, connected to North Africa and the Middle East. (There is a French company named "Tadé, the Country of the Lavant" -- http://www.tade.fr/start.htm -- marketing a fair-trade* line of soaps/make-up.)

Be that as it may, Daniela's model is her brother's girlfriend, Nicky Guerrero; this shot was taken on January 22 -- that is, during her summer vacation at home in Trelew (a long flight south from the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires). As I mentioned on my earlier post, she started college in Buenos Aires two months ago.

She writes, "I fell in love with photography in 2011, but I'm still learning." Of this shot, she says she and Nicky did some beach photos "...with that gorgeous rainbow on the background (yes, it rained a bit but it was still hot)," capturing "the golden hour" at the other end of the beach. Alas, "...everyone wanted to go home, they [didn't] GET the beauty of 'golden hour'..."

* This is a laudable approach to improving the lot of farmers and small manufacturers in the Third World; dealing directly with them, increasing their share of the products' final price. Posh gourmet coffees, luxe textiles and perfumes, etc. tend to be low-volume merchandise -- so it's not a magic panacea, but evidently there's been considerable improvement in the lives of tens of thousands of poorer producers in the past decade.
