Aino Maria travels quite a bit. In her not-large collection, I've spotted shots from Africa, from Brazil and Nicaragua, from the Eastern Baltic (not to say Finland, as I noted in the previous post), and from Italy -- where she (or a friend?) struck this curious pose.
One thing most of her work has in common is the exquisite quality of light -- mostly glorious sunshine, but also the occasional indoor shots with, again, quite-striking sorts of lighting.
Note how the sunlight just WASHES over her, casting sharp-edged shadows.
Oh, I had promised to check on where I first saw Aino's fine photos: it was a fairly large Flickr group, called "girls girls girls" -- not particularly prurient, simply young women both in front of the camera and BEHIND it, obviously including Aino. But do take a minute to check it out:
