standing on the floor, trying to avoid getting thwacked...

spent all morning down in the subterranean of the perc. known forevermore as the drill floor. cos it does resemble the close-confines, high tech, heavy labour, heavy water work of offshore drilling. In all its stressful, attention-to-detail, tech orientated glory.
No robots down here. Just a lot of fiddling, pipes, lines, cables, plugs, water changes, mops, mats, suction watching and continual observation. all while wearing 16+ lbs of lead. and the constant bangbangbangbangbang of the jackhammer.
All of this taking place in a theatre smaller than my garage. And a movable C-Arm. With one window up in the top corner all I would need is the odd seagull to stick its beak in to say hello and my alternative reality would be complete.
John Wayne was drilling, and explaining what he was doing to a visitor while he was doing it. The biggest thing he said was how the crew had to know what they were doing. This is the biggest problem with the procedure I think, that and the distance from the rest of the theatres, far away down the back in the x-ray suite. I got lucky today, I hope I continue to get lucky for the future.

Things like the above, if this is not an example of how I create fantasy out of the most mundane situations I don't know what is. Could be one of the reasons why I like the Uro, it has the level of tech I've rarely experienced without backbreaking equipment or utter psychopaths at the helm. and these really would score 90%+ on the psychopathy test from previous posts. People that if I interacted with outside a hospital environment I would show a whole different side of my personality.

But this in uro. and in the afternoon I found what the consultant gang for the dept had left us to celebrate the season.
The coffee table, the one I prop my feet on most lunch-breaks, was packed. Packed. PACKED.
Truffles, hot chocolate, huge jar of coffee, HUGE bag of teabags, pretzels, mejool dates, amaretto biscuits, chocolate fingers, breadsticks, Lint chocolates...
Had to be at least £50 of food and drink on that table. Had me jumping up and down, literally. cos with me, when it comes to gifts, food ranks pretty high. good food is the best. I know I should hold out for CDs, or diamonds, or gift certificates but stuff it, the way to my support and effort definitely is chocolate truffles. :)
Least I make people laugh.
Walking, talking, sharing, caring enigma. I know..

presents, knackeredness, accomplishments, food, wet work, work ethic
