load the bases, stack the lines

for 2013 this year doesn't feel like it's up to much.
i mean, the basics of January have already occurred. Odd sports, sudden deaths, crappy weather. Yep, right on time. We've all been paid - which eases the stress on the credit card somewhat - but that aside January always gets caught up being the first month out of the chute following the commercial bedlam that is Christmas.
Work so far has run smooth, I know something big's coming in 8 weeks time. An amalgamation of departments over two different trusts in the Bristol area means more kit, more lists and more work. The workload is about to jump again, and not in a good way.
Hey i'm not stressing. What comes comes, either we'll survive it, or we won't. That's not maudlin, just practical. You have to be these days in the public sector. Teachers are being knocked from pillar to post, nurses see the writing on the wall with these planned pay cuts.
Not freezes, CUTS!

On different notes here's the following:

Why do boys have THE BEST post-apocalyptic jackets? Found this fantastic jacket in M&S; desert brown, lots of hand pockets, rugged and durable, only £50. But it's bulky on me, even in a Small size, and i've fought so long not to have a bulky masculine figure i don't want to backslide for the sake of my short-circuited fantasies of end-of-the-world fashion. I have enough trouble as it is!
Needless to say the girls range had nothing like that in stock. It was all macs and tissue-thin coats that looked like they'd fall apart if the UK weather so much as sneezed.

Superbowl's coming up. Which means my last full week of annual leave is coming up. I'm going need this one. But it's not coming cheap. Doing the OT (overtime) on Saturday, see previous comment about the credit card, and maybe on Sunday too. then watching the game. Then recovering. Wednesday is the chiropractor, Friday the counseling, Tuesday I might have go and see the head of the families. He's 89, and has the authority of a man 30 years younger. He known me forever, all my previous lives, and he's fine with me. I'd walk over fire for that man. So when i get a suggestion to go and see him, well, hardly gonna say no am i?
Thursday is my day, hopefully to strap in and try and get one step closer to finishing this bloody "writing project". this is the second draft (Draft 2.2).
And that's the week.

Enjoy it. Cos the next week off is in May, and save March when i'm in the Bath Spa having my shoulders worked on it's full steam ahead when we go 12 hour shifts in April.
Can't wait....

writing in cafes, teamwork, scrubbing, fortitude, tenacity, hope
