Ok.
The lowdown.
Thursday I lost my phone. best guess it ended up in a clinical waste bag. Though odds are possible it went down on a blood-soaked surgical set, got cleaned and processed and sterilised at over a hundred degrees centigrade and is probably languishing in a vascular set somewhere.
Friday, or yesterday, I lost my hospital ID. Not just one card, but the original id I've had since 2006, my keycard for the new (horrifically bug ridden) computer system, and the key to my loc.
I went down to the hospital at noon today and spent over 10 minutes with a porter trying to break open my locker with all matter of foreign objects. The WWF would've been proud at our ingenuity!
However it got to the point where the metal in the locker was starting to bend as opposed to the padlock, so in the end we stopped it all and came home.
In my loc are my shoes, coffee mug and coffee. in other words everything I need to LIVE and FUNCTION as a human being in the 21st century NHS system.
As a result I am less than a happy bunny.
And I am more than a little afraid that SOMETHING will go wrong/get lost/blow up to complete this trifecta of badness.
personally I'm looking forward to it, cos I'd rather it happen now than when I'm down in Aberystwyth, which is where I'll be in 6 days’ time.
Oh. and how hard is it to write assassinations?
murphy's law,
hospitals,
paranoia,
unluckyness...,
scrubbing,
nhs stupidity,
what can i live without?
