Anything you want to say before we sedate you?

Been up since half 6 on account of the dream I had. I was getting ready to have the 2nd of 2 operations on the same day (I can't even remember what for) and the op theatre decor was set out like something out of Aliens/Matrix, all blue/green steel and thermaplast and rockcrete.
Not that I have a problem with that per se, but it was slightly disconcerting.
Anyway I got led into the anesthetic bay and got as far as having the line put in my hand and seeing the big scary syringe of white stuff (propofol) drawn up and waved under my nose.

So I'm sitting on the gurney feeling unhappy and sniveling and then a rabbit walks in. Like a wild rabbit, like whatshisface off Watership Down. After petting the rabbit, which hops away stage left, I have to then wait cos for some reason (I can't remember) they can't operate on me right now.
SO I leave the room, which turns out to be a carriage on an underground train, again decked out in heavy futuristic industrial decor, and it promptly leaves the station leaving me on the platform.

On the platform with other passengers in a hospital gown and a patent line in one hand.
Oh.

I then meet an anesthetist who was supposed to get on the same train, blonde face and freckles, and he tells me we have to get a bus to get ahead of the train therefore giving us the chance to get on the frickin thing.

Cue us trying to jump on spaceage routemasters that are overloaded like the Tokyo underground trains and hanging off the back in an attempt to climb to the top deck while the bus does a 180.

And then I woke up.

Scary huh, not scary - scary. More scary - weird.
And I now need coffee.

sci-fi, underground, dreams, surgery
