oh blah....
ok, it breaks down like this. My football team just lost, I'm in work (again!), and the vending machine that no one wanted is now in the coffee room calling to me and telling me that I really want to have that Star Bar.
With extra peanuts and caramel.
On the football note, Ben never got his arse untracked and our mighty offense could only muster 4 FG's.
Now we have the Bengals crowing like they own the joint, thinking they're the best thing since sliced bread. Part of me's happy they are ahead of the Pitt, purely because if they go to the playoffs they're going to have to take on the Colts, Patriots or some other high-powered anti-Pitt team and I'm hoping for an upset in the wild cards.
The down side is that if Cincy DO take the division crown they could get a bye in the first round and the chances of Pitt actually reaching the playoffs reduce dramatically on account of the high stakes that have dogged wild-card contenders (particularly in the AFC) over the past 4 years.
Case in point being last season when New England went 11-5 and didn't make the playoffs.
Oh and our top defender, Polomalu, is out again with a damaged left knee, the same one he injured in week 1.
And I miss Aaron Smith. :-(
On other news I saw Dr. Who.
A new one and I liked it.
It's on Mars and has a sci-fi / Alien theme that I like. The crew of the Mars expedition are all destined to die in an explosion and their martyrdom is destined to inspire the planet earth into bigger and better things in the next century.
Then the Dr. turns up, along with the usual "demonic possessing force", picks off the crew one by one... and any Dr. Who vet will know the rest.
Without giving too much away here, the ending was good and I ADORED the preview for the christmas show as it features my favorite Dr. Who character.
*starts drumming thigh in rhythmic fashion*
he's blonde in the preview, but it's ok, he can carry off the blonde.
