So, I'm staying at a hotel in Schaumburg, IL this weekend. This trip was one of my nephew's xmas presents - Schaumburg is home to the LegoLand Discovery Center. It's been busy, especially as the hotel has also been hosting a youth cheerleading/tumbling competition thing - lots of young girls and kids in general, very noisy.
Tonight, when I left the hotel room looking for someplace where I could be on the computer without (a) disturbing someone, or (b) being disturbed, it was difficult to find an accommodating location. I finally found an abandoned hallway in the conference center area, with a baby grand and some comfy couches. I played on the piano a while and after that I surfed the internet and watched some videos. Then this young man (cute, too!) came by and asked if his playing the piano would disturb me. I'm now sitting on a still very comfy couch, listening to these magnificent sounds. He's improvising, from what I can tell, and has been switching styles from classical to jazz to really good blues. No, sir, I do not mind. Simple happiness.
