inappropriate chair-dancing or, i love my second chapter
totally forgot about scissor sisters -- laura, filthy/gorgeous the comfortably numb cover -- so much good stuff! can't see how the group managed to slip my mind as they gave one of the most high-energy performances i've ever seen (or that anyone's seen since the 80s if you know what i mean). they are rocking me through my chapter 2 revisions today. the whole situation is pretty sweet as my second chapter is far and away my favorite. it's where i get all aristotle on political science's ass.
also, i decided to add barack's new hampshire speech as an example text to illustrate the persuasive rhetorical techniques i'm detailing. i'm sort of blissed out about getting to use it. i keep catching myself chair-dancing, which is really a no-no in a public cafe.
*sigh* at least i'm with my friend T so people won't think i'm a totally crazy grad student who's been driven to random, rhythmic twitching. or if they do, at least they'll know it hasn't made me bad company!
Update: T has informed me that the descriptions "totally crazy grad student driven to rhythmic twitching" and 'good company' are in no way dichotomous or mutually exclusive. see how annoying PhD students are? i'll be so glad when i'm no longer one of them ;0)
