things have gotten really busy around these parts. i've not been able to work on my dissertation at all this week between deadlines at my two paying gigs as well as dance rehearsals. on top of that i've had to put my car in the shop--it was doing some nefarious shaking during gear shifting--and am having to transit back and forth to Hyde Park because this just so happens to be a week when i've had multiple meetings there. on top of that ST has been working on finishing the downstairs bathroom, which is a good thing, but also very messy. and i really hate mess. he had to take the sink out to prime and paint behind it so we've been using the kitchen sink to brush our teeth for the last two days. i find that vaguely disgusting. but alas. on top of the disarray, both ST and i seem to be working on a mild change-of-season cold, which means we're both a little lethargic and mucusy. something to add to the messy feeling.

all this, of course, has to be pulled together by tomorrow afternoon when my parents arrive. hopefully, i'll have my car back by then, otherwise things are going to get very, very tricky.

none of this is earth shattering, of course, but the confluence has made me cranky.
