(no subject)
The song would be perfect if it actually was 2:45.
Well, this was quite a day. Services were great. Matt and Ann are back in town, which means we can put Matt back on the sound crew.
After services, Matt, (not the one mentioned above) Jennifer, Kevin, and I went out to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch. We sat around for hours after we ate just talking. I managed to stick my foot in my mouth a couple of times. (You'd think I would be so good at that with a size 11 shoe and yet.....) I made no particulat comment at anyone's expense, but it was something that after I said it, I realized that I should have worded it differently, or at least clarified with more than just "I didn't mean it like that." Oh well. It wasn't the first time, and I doubt it'll be the last.
After we disbanded, it was time to go to dinner, lol. I picked up Paul on the way, and we went to Dave and Buster's. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to change. We met up with Kevin, and yet another Matt. (This one was a coworker of mine.) It was essentially my birthday party. Kevin, knowing the StarWars fan that I am, gave me a toy lightsaber as kind of a gag gift. I was touched. Paul gave me a gift card to the Cheesecake Factory, and a card that said many doors will open now that I'm twenty-one. On the insided of the card were various pictures of bars, pubs, and taverns. (those were the doors in case no one got the joke.)
Another coworker of mine named Souk, joined us for a while. Since we had to wait over two hours, we passed the time by playing pool. Paul actually did pretty good. I lost to Kevin. I beat Matt once and lost to him once. Souk mopped the floor with all of us. When he realized I wasn't going to get drunk, he got bored and left. Too bad; because that was when we finally got seated. I ordered my very first martini; mainly because that's what James Bond always ordered. Mine was fruit flavored though. Consequently, it actually tasted good. (I've been told by some that it's considered a "guy rule" to drink drinks that taste bad, but have a strong kick. I think that's stupid.)
After dinner, we went around to the various arcade games. I tried one of those dancing games, which wasn't as easy as it looked. We all played Daytona USA, which Kevin won. We all tried various games that in the arcade. I think we all had a pretty good time, and Matt and I hope to head back there again some time with one of our other coworkers.
Okay, I'm going to bed now.
