Where the Rhine and the Mosel rivers meet.
A field of rapeseed. Used, amoung other things, for alternative auto fuel.
My kid and her kindergarten class. German kids can got from age 3 until around age six, they are guarenteed a spot.

A public art work with the famous Cologne Cathedral in the background.
A like-a-bike. Lots of little German kids start with these, and they learn to ride real bikes early because of it. My kid was riding a real bike without training wheels at age 4. I know littler kids who ride real bikes, too. It's funny how my American brain sees a very young or alternately, very old (also common around here) person on a bicycle and is amazed.Physical activity! Not just for sports nuts!
A clip from the paper with an example of regional dialect. Around here, it's Kölsch. That says: " Bei uns in Köln wird alles doch wieder gut."
Cologne is a Karneval city. I always say it's like Mardi Gras but with more clothes. It's too cold otherwise! These kids are getting ready to go to a kindersitzung.
The Cologne Dom in a snowstorm.
Look! A funny little eurocar!
I don't know about the rest of Germany, but Cologne has a million and one Italian Ice Cream cafés. This is a wild berry bowl.
