Pictures from Germany

I love taking pictures and do so regularly. I decided to post my pictures at my personal LiveJournal, but I can post those of interest here, too. I won't bring you every picture (unless you want me to) because there are a lot of flowers, trees and whatsoever which aren't that interesting for a deutsche_kultur community :-)

Let's start with a trip to Hamburg I recently made:

Subway station Reeperbahn. And, yes, we had a crappy and rainy day.

Picture from the famous Hamburg Reeperbahn (Red Light District). A rainy day in front of the St. Pauli Theatre and the well known Davidswache (police station).

The St. Michaelis church, also known as "Michel" and one of Hamburg's landamarks. View from Reeperbahn.

Hamburg Dom, a quite huge funfair which was almost directly in front of our hotel. Yay :-)

After getting up and a nice breakfast/lunch at Subways at the Reeperbahn, we took the tube to the centre, namely to the Binnenalster. Went shopping a bit right here (and they had a Starbucks, wohey!):

It was a rainy and grey day so no really beautiful pictures. *sigh* The Binnenalster:

The "Jungfernstieg", a quite famous street, with the city hall in the background (left part of the picture):

Some big houses at the Binnenalster:

Coming back to our hotel where the car still was parked (quite cheap, we only paid 5 Euros for 24 hours or so) we decided to take one final walk, this time at the Dom which was already closed when we came home the day before. And I took the chance to have a nice view from the top of the ferris wheel :-) That's a view to the street our hotel was located at. That's not our hotel.

A view over the Dom which looks like a huge mess from above *g*

That's our hotel, the blue one. The (kind of) red one was another one. And do you see the pink thing at the next street? And the red building? That already was the Reeperbahn (red light district) which was really close. Lovely :-)

Another view into that direction, a bit higher but again the red building. And in the back a part of Hamburg's harbour.

I'll post more pictures of this trip soon, I just don't want to spam you with those :-)
